Here's my thoughts on trades: Holland will never trade Broberg so Chychrn is a no go as that's the player who would be required. But Dumba is who we should definitely go for! He's a legit top pairing RD we haven't had since Larson. I propose Dumba for Ceci (who is a #4 at best), JP and 2024 1st. Toss in Kemp or Kesselring (both Americans) as a sweetener and add an 800k RW from Minn to balance bodies. Boom! Trade #2: Foeggle, Yamo + 2025 1st to Chicago for Domi & Lafferty. BOOM!
The thing ur missing with big G is he's playing where he shoudn't be. He is not a first pairing guy. He is a 2nd pair shut down guy something like Carlo on Boston. He is not going to look good playing all that time. He should be getting around 18 mins a night. Putting him on the 2nd pair in Edm would let Nurse come down in play time. The pk would instantly improve. But I would over pay to get big G but only if he resigns here. My target would be Ekholm. I'am not worried about his age at all. He will age very well.
The problem isn't that AZ wants a 1st rd pick for Chychrun, the problem is that they want 2 x 1st round picks PLUS a top prospect like Broberg, Bouchard, or Bourgault. They want 3 assets not named Puljujarvi or Foegele. Can you really justify that when Barrie has been playing well all season, and both Bouchard and Broberg are starting to look good?
Dude, do a trade tree even if it's on a whiteboard. Either that or just call out the overall number of the pick so that it's coherent. Nobody remembers how where the Blues or the Flames finished every year resulting in their picks.
