Il a inscrit 15:51 de temps de glace et a marqué son premier but depuis son retour dans l’alignement des Sénateurs lors de la défaite de 5-1 samedi contre les Jets de Winnipeg. Il termine la saison avec deux buts et trois points en huit matchs. La saison dernière, Norris a enregistré des sommets en carrière dans tous les départements, enregistrant 35 buts et 20 passes pour 55 points en 66 matchs. Cette performance exceptionnelle a valu à Norris une prolongation de contrat. Pendant la saison morte, il a signé un contrat de 63 millions de dollars sur huit ans qui porte une valeur annuelle moyenne (AAV) de 7,95 millions de dollars jusqu’à la saison régulière 2029-30. People need to remember this team is still young and still has lots of holes. This team, yes, sure grew in offense(despite the bad start to 2023), but defense didn't get better, and our goaltending has been inconsistent. But let's also not forget between Nov25th-Jan3rd we went 12-5-2 in that time. Which we did that all without Josh Norris.
What I am saying is even tho playoffs is unlikely we have the team to make it a fight all the way to the end of the season if they figure their stuff out and turn this season around now. 20-23-3 is roughly where I had them pinned by late January before the season started.
This team has lots of talent, lots of growth & depth being developed in the AHL. Even players on Ottawa are set to have personal career years.
All Sens fans are all getting mad, salty, or even just straight up RAGE over this season and especially DJ Smith. Now, as much as I believe DJ may not be the coach come the time Sens are a playoff team, I have full confidence in DJ, and this team to still make this season as fun as possible for Die Hard Loyal Sens Fans like me. Win or Lose GO SENS GO.

This channel brings the best, most level-headed info on the Senators. I watch other channels and just like our young Sens players, they are too high on the high days and too low on the low days.
I re-watched episode #78 from September with Ryan & Meth predicting how the year would go, and they were pretty spot on. They effectively said: We need to manage fan expectations. The playoffs are maybe possible if all the stars align and stay aligned all season, but the short answer is no. With our top-center Noris out the whole season, the stars are not aligning. With Zub and Motte our major periods, the stars are not aligning. With our goal-tending duo under-performing lately, the stars are not aligning. Hopefully we can trade for a D with term, Zub & Motte get better, and we can pick up a few wins to build up a bit of hope for next year with our young guys getting another year of experience, maturity, and professionalism.
This is where Management should have put their foot down and said we just gave you a huge contract, get the surgery heal fully then play.
I love Yorkie, but someone needs to tell him he doesn't need to add a point every time anyone talks. It disrupts the flow of the show, and takes away from Wally's hosting. I think he has great stories, but we don't need to tell them all in the first season. The host needs to run the show, other than that, great job, and great content boys. (This is just my opinion, of course, and it is also my opinion that Bobby is a legend.)
How much do you guys think having Norris out for the year, and Timmy and Pinto only having maybe 100 total games at centre, (I don't know exactly how many) exposed, and put extra pressure on what we all know to be an already really weak D corps? I feel like that hasn't been talked about enough (or at all really). I feel like if Norris played all season, it might have covered up some of that weakness, and maybe we are still talking about possible Wild Card appearance
York said it right. Norris would have been out for the season regardless if he chose surgery 2 months ago. He will get it now and be back well before training camp next year. It's always worth rehab before committing to surgery.
