I always said that Monty was a great goalie. Sammy is a huge Habs fan and he purposely fucked up his stats and letting goals in that makes you go « wtf, any goalie would’ve saved that » for a better odd at the draft. But he’s currently fucking up our odds you might say. No, au contraire my friend. He’s currently playing at his full potential to secure his spot as a starting goalie so that Jakey isn’t the one fucking up our odds and Monty can go back to purposely tanking.

I want Monty to be here when this team is good. He’ll be older but if we can snag a promising young goalie prospect soon I can 100% see him being the wily veteran on a good/contending team in a couple years who is showing a good prospect the ropes.

Here is a 1990s reference for you. Monty is reminiscent of Jeff Hackett, a perfectly fine goalie with 500 basic straightforward nhl games in him who comes after a legend leaves (Roy/ Price) who can share the load during an era of bad teams (late 1990s / early 2020s)

Was at the Boston game yesterday and he made 3-5 game stopping saves. Gave Montreal a real chance to win. Marty lost us that game playing an AHL line against Pasta, Bergy, and Marchand with 3 minutes left…
