Well then go get us a first and then come back in the off season?

Nut. For real though ROR. Lets trade you get us some picks and players, then come back to us. You deserve better than this team. Go win a cup and come home please dad.

You’re too valuable to keep… for nothing.

I’d keep ROR on a team friendly deal. After we trade him first.

Hard pass.

O captain my captain. I’m an ROR simp and if Vova isn’t coming back which is basically a guarantee then we should keep ROR and maybe even Barbashev depending on what you can get for Barbie. Also contingent on ROR taking a more team friendly deal.
RORs value in my view is much higher than just points but if we get him someone to play with I feel he can definitely contribute again. His value in the playoffs skyrockets dramatically too, not a bad thing to have if you’re saying you’re a cup contender.

It’s completely up to him. If he wants to stay, then show it. Sign a shorter deal if need be. I fucking hate it when we get statements from athletes like this when it’s COMPLETELY their call.
If we trade him, and hope to re-sign him, there is no guarantee that happens.
I would very much like to keep him, but he’s in the driver’s seat.

This guy is the Blues equivalent of Waino. A captain and a win-now guy with a bit too soft of a core around him to get to a championship. He’s definitely a fit in STL, but not STL in 2023. If I’m Armstrong, I’m not looking to fleece the guy either. He deserves to paid and get a shot at winning. That’s probably not going to happen here. The cap stuff screwed us for a couple years. Hurts to say it but ROR we love you…and you probably can’t (and shouldn’t) stay.

ROR getting traded to, idk, Seattle (trying to pick a contender that I find likable) and winning another Cup, and then re-signing in the offseason is the ideal.
dannyjimp
Then he should play better.

I hate paywalls. He’s not resigning here unless he takes less then market value. Trade him for assets we can use and then if he’s willing to take a team friendly deal, resign him in the offseason.
