As always there are two sides to every trade. Someone has to want to buy what you're selling at a price that is acceptable to you and someone has to want to sell something you want to buy at a price you can afford. Hopefully the two shall meet and we'll part ways and give a player or two a fresh start elsewhere (hopefully not in the division or even conference where we only see them maybe 2 times a year yet they can find success) and we find a diamond that looks like dirt that shines once it arrives (thinking Klim Shady by way of example).

If prices come down then maybe make a trade. I would keep the roster as is. And fix your left in free agency this summer if we fail in this year's playoffs

I personally would like see toews added if he is cheap enough and I don’t want Derek Ryan gone or foegle gone. They are key parts to this team and have helped spark the team turnaround. Doesn’t help trading them for picks if you want to go for the cup this year.

Ryan and Foegle are both playing well. No issue with JP on waivers if no takers. Toews would be a great addition but Hawks didn’t retain salary with the Keith deal so can’t see them doing it this time either. Keep the vids rolling
I believe there's enough interest in Jesse that he will get picked up off waivers if he makes it that far.
Wouldn't a 7th round pick be better then nothing for him?

Thanks for the update Patrick, hopefully no other Oilers have that flu bug. Be an interesting game since it sounds like it's Boudreaus last game as coach. I expect the Canucks to come out flying so the Oilers gotta be ready. Should be a very entertaining game.

These plans all sound good to me. I love both goalies, but I hope Jack Campbell stays in net as long as he keeps playing so well.

Derrick Ryan need to stay, but a trade of Jesse p need to happen…..he need a change to a new team, too much struggling offensively frohim, get another D man or a goalie….m
imo we don’t need chy as an offensive d man. we could use another defensive guy but with the d playing better overall my faith is slowly being restored
I think Toews might still wanna Go to Winnipeg if he's feeling like a Return Home to Manitoba to finish his career with his family could be necessary, Horvat Could be out of the picture & Gavrikov is still in the mix witch is something we can hope for the best. Another option is Max Domi can be a cheaper option for Chicago to trade away plus the price for Domi is a 2nd so it wouldn't hurt to give away Yamo or Puljujarvi.
The mediation process hurt everybody with Puljujarvi, including him. Fair contract and he would have been trade-able for sure. Now, I fear his days in the NHL are just simply numbered. Mind boggling though, that neither Carolina nor Columbus want to take a chance on him to at least put him on the same team as Aho or Laine. Not on the same line obviously, but either team could probably gain something.
If you could trade puljujarvi for domi. I'd like that dimension. A goofball for and asshole any day.
The longer it drags on JP the fewer chances the other GM will trade picks for him.
The $3M is hard to swallow for any team right now.
Not sure if Toews is willing to waive his NTC for the Oilers because not many American players like to play in Canada.
subtracting would help. just subtract Puljuj and Bouchard. That is $4m. GM error to give Pulju (&Yama) $3m before this season & nobody wants that. Bouch errors are very costly and very little positive.. so helping Deshar move in to replace will be a big help. You are over-rating Foeg & Yama relative to their $3m pay, so just getting a little back will help.

Jesse is solid gold and if he is traded he will flourish statisticlly wherever he ends up and the Oilers will lose a critical element of their game. Jesse would individually 100% be an Oiler-killer who could drive the shut down their current 1st line.
