Man, I would love to see gameplay from this era. Does anyone know of the oldest filmed hockey gameplay?

Back in my day, my team won two trophies a season, and we had to share three sticks b’twixt us all.

I read an article in Smithsonian on the history of hockey in Montreal and why a team name like The Shamrocks could happen. In the 19th century and early 20th there were 3 main immigrant groups in Montreal; The French, The British, and the Irish.
The French and the Irish had 2 things in common, they were both Catholic…and they both hated the English with a passion. So when it came time to form teams, you could find both Irish and French often on the same team.

I’m a little disappointed by the lack of shamrocks on their jerseys

I’d love to be able to see what people in 2147 think when they see a photo of the 22 Champ Avs. They’d be all wondering how we played without laser skates and rocket sticks

the notorious F. Huddlestone McGriff top right with the big moustache, a well-known insolent and meddlesome scoundrel indeed

Stanley is only a baby in this pic
