I agree about the Hyman signing, best FA signing for the Oilers ever! I just can't understand why the Leafs didn't make it work to keep him. I would move heaven and earth to sign him. Now for Gavrikov, if it's a first and good prospect or something, I wouldn't do that…I'm just not a big fan of the player

This is a deep draft…not sure how I feel about the 1st going out the door for anything let alone gavrikov
How about a Barrie for Dumba trade? Gaining more physicality without sacrificing the pp imo! I would suggest a Bouchard for Gavrikov too but the fan base would freak out even though we're getting a better defensemen!.
the only way i'd give up a first for Gavrikov would be a 2024 1st and 2025 or 2026 3rd
Any defensemen Oilers acquire this season will be a rental unless they ship Broberg, Bouchard, or Barrie out.

Hyman is the best free agent signing I have seen since 1980. The best trade so far for Holland has to be Kosin . As far as Gavricov..first round pick JP and and autographed McD sweater. Any more and forget it. Seaweed Man is what is required on the back and will only get better with more experience. Janmark back in the line up is great news. JP can ride the bench. Maybe you Soucy dream will come true. Keep the vids rolling.

Top Trade Targets:
1. Brian Dumoulin (Pit) age 31 2nd pair LD: 80 playoff games, 2 Cups, very physical but rarely takes penalties, 4.1mil exp contract
2. Matt Dumba (Min) age 29 Top pair RD: over 40 playoff games, tough, hard hitter, offensive as well, is on the block! 6mil exp contract
3. Max Domi (Chi) Top 6 Winger or 3C: tough, gritty but can also snipe. 3mil exp contract
4. Sam Lafferty (Chi) Top 9 RW: gritty & fast two way player. 1.15 mil 2 yr contract
TOTAL $ IN: 14.250 mil
Trading out:
1. Codi Ceci: 3.25 mil 3 yr contract
2. Jesse P: 3mil expiring contract
3. Warren Foeggle: 2.75 mil 2 yr contract
4. Brett Kulak: 2.75 mil 4yr contract
5. Kailer Yamo: 3.1 mil 2 yr contract
TOTAL OUT: $14.85 mil
+Any pick except 2023 1st +Any B prospects (Benson,Tulio, Kesselrng, Kemp, etc). This adds needed playoff/cup experience, more physicality and grit needed in playoffs, rids us of under performing players, and clears out 13mil in cap space for next year. 🤟🏽
It all depends on the interest of other teams with this guy if he's worth giving up a 1st for a potential rental. But if he goes, another Defenseman has to go the other way for him to make room on the back end. I doubt the Columbus GM has any interest in JP since he passed over him on the draft and wasn't part of any trade talks.

If we can rent Gavrikov for a couple of picks (even a first round) I'm all over it, the time is now not years from now. We have a great team and we already have good young guys in the system. The addition of Desharnais and Kostin, and with Broberg getting better every game one more dependable (even 3rd pairing) D would be a massive addition (not to mention very nice to have if guys like Nurse get banged up again in OUR UPCOMING LONG PLAYOFF RUN 😉
If Gavrikov isn't a hitter, then he's not our guy. Especially for a 1st round pick. I'd rather have Luke Schenn. We need more physical presence on the back end, since Nurse has gone completely soft.

Canucks can’t sign Horvat and (Andrei) Kuzmenko., but maybe Canucks keep Horvat.. Think Oilers should gets Kuzmenko and left defense from Columbia bluejacket
