    Glad he outright said winger.

Does this squash bo as a target rumors?

Also the buy in part worries me a little if only because bratts agent may not buy in with numbers that work for everyone. Although nico and Jack setting the tone on team friendly deals goes a long way, as does winning. If we make playoffs and make it out of the first round you gotta imagine guys are more willing to shave some money off to better the team.

    This literally screams Timo Meier

if they trade their first rounder this year they better AT LEAST win a round, don’t want to give another team a dawson mercer

GIMME FUEL GIMME FIRE GIMME TIMO FUCKING MEIER

The comments about Bratt are intriguing. “He says he wants to win here, but his agent keeps telling me I’m insulting him.”

As a fan this excites me but as a logical person, doesn’t releasing this statement only serve to weaken his negotiating position?

Now there’s pressure on him to deliver and his counterparts know that.

TIMO MEIER IS THE CORRECT ANSWER EVERYBODY

  11. BigBadWolf44

Great Fitz. Make the fucking trade this week. Let him get integrated over the all star break.

  12. gothenburgpig

Bratt for Meier, since I can’t tell if Fitz’s comments about Bratt’s agent are negotiation tactics or not

We memed gusev into reality, we can meme meier into reality

Welp. Unless Pasta hits the market I think we all know who the best option is here.

I know it’s Timo talk all the time, but I was just wondering who else would be considered a youngish top-6 winger under team control and a few names I came up with (not saying they are good fits, but just to see what is the actual pool of options out there):

    * Max Comtois (24, RFA with arb rights after this year, hasn’t put up big numbers but could benefit from change of scenery)

    * Nick Schmaltz (26, signed 3 more years at 5.85M but his salary takes a big jump next year to 7.5M, 8.45M, 8.5M…basically the kind of contract Arizona looks to get away from to avoid paying too much)

    * Dillon Dube (24, signed one more year at 2.3M then RFA with arb rights, really good player but don’t think Calgary can afford to trade him

    * Andrew Mangiapane (26, signed 2 more years at 5.8M, not surprisingly regressed from last year’s 35 goal season)

    * Philipp Kurashev (23, RFA with arb rights after this season, makes 750K this year, he’s Swiss, could be a someone who puts up better numbers in different situation)

    * Taylor Raddysh (24, signed 1 more year at 758K, same story as Kurashev)

    * Denis Gurianov (25, RFA with arb rights making 2.9M, shows high end skill but never seems to put it all together in Dallas. Maybe change of scenery could help)

    * Travis Konecny (25, signed 2 more years at 5.5M, Philly would need a huge package to be willing to trade him so doubt it happens)

    * Jared McCann (26, signed 4 more years at 5M, don’t think Seattle will trade him)

As long as we’re not sacrificing several roster players in the offseason like Graves and Bratt to fit this in, I’ll be ok with it. Fuck getting Timo if it makes the team weaker long term.

We’re good this year because of our defensive depth, special teams, and goaltending. We don’t NEED offense at the expense of any of that.

I’d be perfectly happy not making any big moves and keeping what we have that’s been very successful this year. If we can make Timo happen without giving up too many roster players in the off season then I’d be happy with that.

  17. Lastguyintheline

I don’t like his comments on Bratt one bit. Bratt > Timo and we need to act as such

  18. Confident_Path_7057

So I don’t know anything about trade deadlines or trading at all in general. I just watch the game a say « Yay! » when they win and « boo » when they lose.

So this is probably a dummy question: if they trade over the all star break will the two players immediately suit up and start playing the rest of season with their new team?

  19. Didn’t realize Meier was the same draft class as Zacha. That 2015 first round…. 😬

  20. granweep

You get Timo w/ a contract in hand if only for insurance that you can’t sign Bratt. Sure he is two years older than Bratt but the guy will still be viable for many years.
