I’ve heard if Mike Grier meets his asking, he’s willing to let the trade partner talk extension before executing a trade. If you can trade and get a reasonable aav, why not Timmo
Toews should be done deal low asking price not like other players,experience and he most likely would re sign less money til retires,if Dubois leaves can play 3rd line or fill Dubois spot if needed only for a bit like Bryan little definitely wasn't a number 1 center but we had to use him there. If Dubois is set on Montreal still and we get Dach plus pick or prospect Dach played with toews. That position isn't of power or don't think we will get same return as Tkachuk deal.
And as for defense if we needed I wonder the price on Connor Murphy or Luke Schenn.
If I’m dreaming it’s Meier. Brings a lot to the table size and scoring ability. Toews could slide into that 3rd line c position if the asking isn’t too high. Lowry goes to c the 4 th line where he naturally belongs imo. And the jets have issues with the second pairing d as it’s currently constructed. B Dillon and pionk belong on the 3rd pairing. Chychrun would be a pipe dream
I think if we could get both Toews and Barbashev, we'd be doing great! And I think both those guys wouldn't cost us our 1st.
Lines could look something like:
Conner, Dubois, Ehlers
Barbashev, Scheifele, Wheeler
Perfetti, Toews, Appleton?
Barron, Lowery, AJF
No way I'm coughing up ten million when our centre position is up for grabs and not playing our youth at centre. Not a chance. Forget it.
The hawks should pay us to take toews. Timmo Meier, would be amazing with a big solid hitting D man. Morrisey and Pionk are great as puck moving D-men, but we need muscle to beat Vegas
If PLD is gone next year don't we need a center?
If Dubois leaves, any chance you think Perfetti could be ready to be second C in a couple of years? Is that not his main position he trained for anyway? If Jets got Meier to extend, would a Meier, Perfetti, Ehlers/Connor/Wheeler line be out of the question in a couple of years?
The AHL players that are on the Jets are not good enough. Trade Wheeler and sign Dubois and trade for Dumba.
If Toews wants to come home, CHI let’s him go for a 3rd at best. Jets should go all in on Chychrun. 1st, Ville, Chaz & Pionk/Schmidt for Chychrun & Crouse/Ritchie
