  1. Can't even get to playoffs on Western Conference on multiple seasons, so why keep everything as same? I know they could be on playoffs if every one is healthy and plays on their own perfect level, but that is big if and is that good enough.

Last management made mistakes and new one makes too. I guess only thing is left to ride those decisions to the end, see if Vancouver gets better results on some season.

  2. It's a waste. There's no way the canucks are competing in the next two years. Perpetual mediocrity because they can't plan past one season, if that.

  3. You forgot pearsons contract as well. 3.2 million for a middle 6 forward…possibly bottom 6 once horvat is gone because pearson benefited alot playing with him

  4. Have a great trip. Looking forward to what you cooked up for while you're out.

  5. kuzmenko is in the Nugent-Hopkins, #18, Evander Kane $5-6 mil supporting forward. Hope he works out. I was hoping you could get him in the 3.5 to 4.5 mil area. Great player. .5 point per game guy. Love the player, don't hate the contract.

  6. This is the typical Vancouver swapping the deck chairs on the Titanic…nothing has changed…heading for maybe a 80 + point season and Rutherford told Drancer the refreshed team is cup bound in 2 yrs…LMFAO

  7. I really don't understand why people want to buy Myers out. According to CapFriendly, it'll only save the Canucks $666,666 next season.

  8. Amongst the seemingly endless badgering of misery we’ve dealt with this year, finally some good news! You made this Canucks fans day Kuz👏🏻👏🏻

  9. I'll say this Shannon, as a Canucks fan circa 1980, sometimes you need to embrace being really bad and trading away everyone decent just so that you can start over. This core is clearly too soft and too unwilling to play for each other and it starts with JT Miller. Get rid of him and yes you suffer offensively, but you gain massively with less giveaways and the giving up on plays.

  10. I am glad you are for this signing. I have seen too many "analysts" that think it wasn't good. Great cap hit for what he produces and no long term commitment. If a rebuild is really necessary instead of a retool he can still be dealt near the end of that deal. In the meantime they have a number one center and number one dman so keeping some talent around them to keep them happy is important. 100% tank jobs aren't always warranted or make sense when considering the room.

  11. I don't think this is good news. Canucks should be trading someone who is having a career year and a 25% shot percentage. This is the exact problem with the Canucks. They are unwilling to rebuild despite all signs saying they need it.

  12. Honestly I would rather they keep him and trade Horvat, try and move Boeser etc. the guy signed here and WANTS to be here, shouldn't we have at least one guy on the team who is wanting to stay 😅

  13. Kuzmenko I'm ok with it outplayed Garland Boeser Miller the League cap strapped no Dollars.0 pettersson Kuzmenko will be one to punch line

  14. This signing made me a little less depressed about the Canucks. Far too go but it’s a good start

  15. He's no rookie but i don't think this is "the finished product" . He's been looking better and better every game on the smaller ice since he's arrived, and i haven't seen any drop off in his play yet. He'll improve and is going to be a stud next year.

  16. 46pts in 40 games for Wolanin. How is he not being given a look at the NHL?

  17. Hard to argue? you didn't say that, recognizing how Krejci is having a better season then Kuzmenko and thats with a few more years added and a year off from NHL, I'd take an older Krejci with the same value contract then your Kuzmenko at his Vancouver inflated contract. you guys have been very good at spending money, now its going to cost the Canucks to make room; Its going to hurt.

  18. I'm happy for you Shannon! Finally some positive Canuck News to report!

  19. Not good news, ensures mediocrity for even more years, eats cap space (to get picks on top of the picks they could have gotten for this player) There is no world where a 'retool' is going to work where they send away Bo and get what back? There trying to keep swede EP happy but he is gone as soon as he gets a chance when they are a 20-32 place team for his entire career there. They have ZERO chance at signing Horvat, he like any player on this team want out. Reality? Is EP a cornerstone player to build your franchise around considering how soon he is RFA/UFA

  20. Myers on his last year with canucks makes me smile. It's going to feel like when Lui Erickson left or you won a lottery.

  21. Vancouvers GM was tweaking when he traded for OEL. For me as a guy who knows nothing about being a pro sports GM id never make a trade like that foreal what was he thinking man he was shit when they got him and will be shit until 2027

  22. I am amazed that a guy with 47 games experience is given 11 million dollars over two years AND a 12 team no trade clause. I wonder if there is any chance that a player with an extremely small sample size over a short period of time at the beginning of a season in which opponents and coaches have never played against nor seen play, and with a shooting percentage that is higher than anyone else who has ever played the game, (for comparison NO active player is above 18% for their career, while Kuzzy is at 25%), could possibly not improve or sustain the numbers/pace he's put up so far? I wonder….

  23. I went to an Abby canucks game on Tuesday and Podkolzin didn’t look good. Very dissapointing. He was slow, no secondary gear and no hunger

  24. imo, mcdonough makes this team next season lw/c if horvat trade nets us lysell, carlo and beecher, we could look very different next season.

  25. i was hoping for.a kuzmenko x kaprizov on a line together and they were former teamates 🙁

  26. If the Canucks are to do a re-tool, I'd rather see them ditch the parts of the team that aren't working out, but causing a big cap hit, like OEL and Myers. I don't want to see them ditch the guys who are doing well and keeping the team at least watchable. If I had to choose between Bo Horvat or Brock Beosser going, I'd rather see Brock go, as much as I like, him and he is one of the team's better players, he's also very injury prone and he doesn't do us much good sitting in the press box recovering from his latest injury. Maybe a fresh start in a new place, under a new role could help him be more healthy and not have that problem?

Bo Horvat is a ELITE player, and there's no direction to go but down in getting rid of him. It's highly, HIGHLY unlikely they'll ever get anyone with near the talent or potential talent as Horvat has, and he's just entering his prime now, so he could still get better before he peaks and starts downhill.

  27. Being a lifetime Flyers fan the career of Rick Tocchet changed the face of this team. I saw him play live many times. With Philly and Pittsburgh. This guy is pure hockey. I really remember the early days 87 and 88 when he came up. He and the late Peter Zezel were some of the best technical players I have ever seen.
This is about the smartest move Vancouver management has done in the past 20 years. Be ready for a rollercoaster ride boys!
    He is one experienced coach!
    👍
