This works perfectly heres my official offer NEIN, we’ll hit our ceiling soon enough -__-.
So this years 1st, Holtz, Muk/Casey gets it done from what I’m hearing.
Too steep. He’s not getting $9 mil when both Jack and Nico are making less. Do you want to make money, or do you want to win, Timo?
First rounder, Haula
i have a feeling holtz is gonna turn into timo in 2 years

I don’t see any reason to trade Holtz unless SJ lean hard on NJ. That’s the only way. If it takes Holtz to put NJs over over the edge against other teams.
Ideally I’d want to trade the 1st, Sharangovich , and 2 B prospects which I think could be (Mukh, Bahl, Zetterlund).
That’s not a terrible ask. That’s also the starting ask. I’d bet it ends up a bit lower.
Big thing is contract. With cap going up I wouldn’t be shocked to see him at ten
Bringing up Luke’s name … they are delusional.
$9m is a hard pill to swallow to be honest.
The absolute worst case scenario is that you don’t trade and extend for Meier in order to re-sign Bratt, and then Bratt tests the waters anyway.
This has come up before but I fully believe that if Meier is 9mil or more, it gets very challenging to do that and Bratt and fill out the rest of the roster.
If Bratt isn’t going to re-sign or if Fitzy knows that Bratt is going to ask for a very high number, I would definitely prefer they trade for Meier even if it is at 9 even.
No. Thank you.
Trade Haula and a prospect for someone cheaper who may not be the top talent but still a top 6/9 winger. Put Holtz on 2nd or 3rd line and let him play meaningful minutes.
Does he want big bills or small bills? GET IT DONE
For 9, I’d probably pass on Meier
He’s asking for 9 so he gets 8.5 or so. This writer is fuckin delusional that the devils are ever trading luke Hughes. 1st, Casey, Yegor gets this done.
I’d love to see this as a poll, seems to have our fan base pretty divided. I’d do 1st, Holtz, Bahl, and re-sign at 9, but I think I’d be in the minority.
Do it even if it means signing him at 9 mil (even though I think he gets 8.5). The cap starts climbing in the offseason, and we have a bunch of entry levels. The only way to turn this team into cup contenders is a by filling the gaps in our roster, and the biggest need right now is a powerful goalscoring winger for the top six. You have to bite the bullet on a big trade and contract at some point. If you aren’t willing to splash right now, then chances are you never will be.
The prices of some of these trades are going to start getting a little uncomfortable the closer we get to being a perennial contender. Absolutely not if Luke and Nemec are requested by SJ, I am fine with anyone else and that includes Casey who I am high on
Only way I’d POSSIBLY trade Luke is if it’s a massive deal that brings in Mcdavid or Cale Makar.
That is a fair ask. Make it happen fitzy
2023 1st + 2024 3rd + Mukhamadullin + Boqvist
1st (Top 12-15 protected I say this year)
Yegor Sharangovich:
This hurts but management is not putting this kid in a position where he can excel, i genuinely think he was put on Jacks line to showcase to San Jose (i usually never believe ridiculous shit like that). I love the guy and genuinely think he is already a 25-35 goal scorer in this league but that will never happen on the 4th line so do him a solid and let it be somewhere else with more opportunity, i think yegor easily checks the box of good young established NHLer.
Alexander Holtz:
Definitely an A list prospect, has the Eklund connection, and once again needs to go somewhere where they will be patient and let him make mistakes while firing piss missiles from time to time. This one might hurt in the long run but Meier already fires piss missiles and is exactly what we need right now.
Honestly if need be i would also throw in one of our depth AHL dman (shakir, walsh, bahl, etc.) or a 3rd if that got the deal done. That 9 million ask is crazy and would potentially complicate bratts extension talks but thats a problem for another day. We would be a real good team with Meier in our top 6 the rest of the year.
I would wish our future 1st, Mukhamadullin, Casey, and Boqvist all the best in SJ and ask if Meier where he would like his dump truck full of money to be delivered. Preferably at 8.5, but yes Meier is THAT good. He can’t ask for more then Tkachuk imo even if FA years are more valuable.
The Devils are projected to have 36 million in cap space next season. Assuming Bratt signs around 8.5 + Meiers 9 for 17.5 million, that’s 18 million to resign Graves and the kids. Unless Shrango has a really strong 2nd half he’s looking at 3-4 million bridge deal. Graves should be around 5.5. Yes the Devils will close to the cap but all this talk of sacrificing Bratt for Meier is crazy.
Also if Bratt is asking for more then 8.5, I would trade him for a haul.
Not worth it. Devils should continue to « Trust the Process »
I feel 2023 First, 2024 Second, Muks, Boqvist, and Foote could get it done (I doubt it’s enough tho). I’m just trying to find ways to exclude Holtz or Shango (especially Holtzy cause I love what he can bring to this team). I think Holtz still has more to prove. But if comes down to it I’m will to let go of Holtz in order to gain a franchise player. I’d like to see as many mock trades as possible
We are most likely not winning the cup this year so sending off anyone now is stupid… get Bratt done, see what you have in Nemec and Hughes and make a big move in the off-season… the only thing a big move this season can do is hurt us
Hischier Palat Bratt
Hughes Meier Mercer
Boquist. Zetterlund. Shango
Mcleod. Haula. Bastian
This is where they set the bar its not the actually landing space.
Pass. Unless you can get by with like a 1st and Clarke/(Muk/Casey), which I doubt
I think we should pass. We are in 4th place with our current roster . Let’s not just be buyers this year because it’s the first year in forever that we are buyers.
Not worth the price.
