  1. Who's gonna become Vancouver's new Captain? There's still a possibility that Vancouver could re-sign Bo, if he doesn't re-sign with the Islanders.

  2. I’m a little disappointed that we traded away raty for horvat but horvat is what we need at this time

  3. Too bad they couldn't have signed then traded him , better return . Of course had they just traded Miller last trade deadline they would have had money and NYR offer if true wasn't bad at all for Miller .

  4. It looks like a good deal for both teams. The Islanders are going to love Bo. If he has Barzal feeding him pucks, he could put up some serious goals not just this year but going forward. On the Canucks side, I wish they targeted Noah Dobson or another potential top 4 defenseman, but 2 good pieces plus a 1st is around market value. If Raty turns into something, they could probably flip him for a young d-man.

  5. what a garbage trade for vancouver lol

raty was a second round pick & beauvillier is an average bottom 6 guy for a guy on pace for 50 goas in his prime, wtf is rutherford doing 🤣🤣🤣

  6. Isles have 5 weeks to sign him. They can trade him again if not and recover most of what they gave up. Vancouver retained 25% so they literally saved no $

  7. Good trade both ways thought they would get a little more for him though but not a bad return for horvat at all. Should've held out for the deadline

  8. Don't love giving up Raty Horvat plays the same position (Center) and Isles are loaded at that position. Horvat can play with Barzal and his face off % is at 56.

  9. BEST THING that EVER HAPPENED FOR BO ! NO FUTURE FOR the CANUCKS, NEVER GOING ANYWHERE.

  10. Isles prospect pool is slept on heavily. Raty is a stud. Ishkakov is great. Bolduc, dufour, Wilde etc. a lot of underrated prospects. Raty could very well end up being the nucks’ top center in 3-4 years.

  11. I think Canucks win this easily. Really comes down to if he extends with NYI. But Islanders are outside the playoffs at moment and theres no garuntee they make it with how tight the metro already is. Horvat may opt to test free agency as well.

  12. I don't think this trade is as good for the canucks as lego is making it out to be.

  13. i think it was you that got me on Raty last year or this year. When i heard the Canucks wanted him, i paid more attention. I think you totally sold me way back when. This was the only realistic trade i wanted. I like the trade, i like that you turned me on to Raty awhile back and many people don't know who he is. Thanks Legorocks99

  14. Like Trevor Linden before, another Canucks captain gets traded to the islanders. FYI Vancouver got Bertuzzi from that trade.

  15. Raty absolutely the best piece of this deal. Beau has been underwhelming. Crowd-favorite because of his personality and hustle on the ice, but he just doesn't have that scoring touch — though it can come out of no where in the playoffs. But, as an Islanders fan, barring they resign Horvat, I like this deal. I believe Raty's potential, at his best, is Horvat. Maybeeeeee slightly better. But that's his best potential. Realistically, I think he comes a decent top 6 forward. 50-60 points. Decent PP. Possibly a PK guy.

  16. I think now the centerman of each line is very clear. Petterson, Miller, Raty. I said before if there is any trade with NYI, it must be Raty involved.

  17. I have to admit that I knew nothing of these players until today. I'm just happy that we didn't end up losing Horvat for nothing. I know we'd all like to see the D being addressed but hopefully this is just the beginning of meaningful changes to the roster.

  18. Super bummed that we traded Raty. I was really excited to see him, barzal and William DuFour become our top line of the future, however the isles need a bonafide goal-scorer and someone to help the scoring up front NOW, hopefully Horvat is that guy. I've always enjoyed Beauvillier but he's extremely streaky, a change of scenery would probably benefit him. Beau will forever be the final player to score in Nassau Coliseum, so to see him get traded means a lot to isles fans.

  19. I remember back to the days when we had that two headed monster in net of Luongo and Schneider. Someone had to be moved and due to the contract situation, it was going to be Schneider. I remember thinking we would get a good haul for him but when all we could manage was a draft choice I was furious. With that said, I liked this Horvat kid they picked and now fast forward several years and he's our captain and go-to goal scorer. Schneider had some decent seasons in New Jersey, but then his career quickly hit a wall from which it has yet to recover. We already won that trade hands down and yet were able to parlay that original chip into this impressive deal. That Schneider trade just went into the pantheon of best Canucks trades ever.

  20. Can believe they kept miller over horvat like seriously the captain over miller come onn

  21. I’m annoyed by this trade simply because we could’ve gotten more of a steal. I personally think Raty is a bust, theres a reason someone projected 1st overall would drop to 52. I think the 1st rounder will be good but Beauvillier is nothing. Only good news with him is it’s only 1 more year of the contract. I’ll happily eat my words if this trade works and both of the guys develop more, and I see where management was going, but I feel like a dman prospect and a first would’ve been better

  22. also, with Anthony Beauvillier back in return, most likely Brock Boeser will be traded.

  23. It's a slick trade because that first rounder might even turn out to be a top ten pick if it falls to the 2024 draft. There would be zero chance of that if Bo was traded to a contender. Thinking about the future by Canucks management? This is bizarro universe.

  24. Wasn't it lamorello that traded the Bo pick for schenieds in the first place? Kinda coming full circle a little bit.
So we get a guy with possible Bo level potential, a pretty decent roster player, and potentially a first in the deepest draft in years, plus like 9 years of service from Bo Horvat in exchange for Cory Schneider. This could be an awesome Steve dangle trade tree down the line

  25. Given that the Canucks have no way of re-signing Horvat, getting Raty and a 1st pick is not the worst that can happen. I kind of wish that instead of Beauvillier and his 4mil cap hit they would have gotten another prospect or a pick – at least that would have signaled the full re-build is on… now, taking on a 4mil 25-year-old third line winger to further log-jam the wings, a position that the Canucks have too many overlapping pieces, just make the trade less appealing.

I have a feeling Horvat will become a rental for the Islanders and would sign in the off-season with another team. Like the Canucks, the Islanders are a dysfunctional franchise…
