I would have thought the Canucks would prioritize a high first round pick in the deal. This trade doesn’t really accomplish that.

Theoretically it seems like a fit. Horvat isn't a big leader type but he can score goals, Islanders don't need leadership but they do need goals. Their goals against is pretty solid, I think it's 8th in the league.
