Friedman is as reliable as they come, but I think there’s literally zero chance we trade for Boeser. Someone’s telling him a story.

Boeser $6.65M cap hit through 24-25 season … right-handed RW skilled stick/shot (huge need of this team) … 25 years old … 130-156-286 in 365 GP for a Canucks team that has been quite bad the last few years.
You got the camp of fans saying don’t trade Zuccy because of his friendship to Kaprizov. And, mostly, I’m with you, because relationships are important to overall well-being and contentment. Zuccy, Kaprizov & GMBG all know it’s a business and sometimes business needs to happen before relationships.
Zuccy is 35 years old with a $6.00M cap hit through 23-24 season and has a 10-team NTC, which covers all Canadian teams likely… (damn)
But if you sent Zuccy & a 2nd round pick for Boeser then I could get behind something like that. Dumba and a 2nd would be better but I don’t see that happening.
I’m on board with a trade for Brock Boeser if the math works and it makes the Wild better in the long run, and acquiring a 0.78 point per game 25 year old will typically make your team better in the long run.

Love the Minnesota boy, but I don’t think this is realistic or worth anything that we would be giving up to make it happen.

A high pick and a prospect or two with Vancouver eating salary and it could happen.
Russo and Smith haven’t said anything and « 32 Thoughts » is kind of a spit balling podcast but Friedman is a legit NHL insider.
Stay tuned kids.

I’m conflicted.. all logic tells me don’t make any trades until we’re done with cap hell.. and just invest in the draft so we have an elite core of young players a few years from now..
And then also fuck that shit.. we are a good team right now with Kap, Boldy, Zucc, Ek, Spurgeon, Brodin.. and if we just add a little bit more offense(on Boldy’s line.. to replace Fiala) we could fuck shit up in the remainder of the regular season and the post season because we have two scoring lines, and a shut down line. I hate the notion of waiting till the time is right to compete.. we can still trade right now as long as it isn’t a fucking Herschel Walker type trade and still continue to be safe but also competitive..
Honestly get something for Rossi while we still can.. make him the center piece of a trade with like Greenway and Dumba or whatever..

Russo has said repeatedly that he doesn’t think the team will target him because they think he’s too expensive to be more or less an offense-only player, until I hear otherwise from him that’ll be my expectation 🤷♂️

I really hope Guerin doesn’t trade for Boeser.
