    Terrible trade for the islanders. Assuming they don't win the cup this year and they sign him to a 8×9, this is AWFUL. They got rid of their only promising prospect and leave it up to Lou to age this team with no prospects like he did before he left the devils.

    Despite winning the trade, the isles still won’t make the playoffs & horvat will likely depart in the summer. Good old uncle Lou going down swinging though.

    lou spent the last 3 years not addressing the islanders scoring needs. i also think it was a bad move to let trotz go. this looks like a last gasp to save his job. that said, since they got horvat, him and barzal on a line sounds like a great opportunity.

    So basically what these guys are saying is that the Islanders are barely a playoff team. But, look out, if they happen to make the playoffs by some miracle, they're dangerous. 😂😂😂

    What about semyon varlamov? He was a big part of those playoff runs. I know he's no longer the starter and all, but he had a big impact on the team the last 2 -3 years

    Yes. I think that if they can have a strong february, they’ll be back in. Who knows. They go as far as their play goes. Pittsburgh and Washington are also looking rather flat as of late

    “This team is built to win now,” ok buddy. When you say that, you are saying that the islanders can win the Stanley cup. The isles, as currently built, don’t have a shot in hell at even coming close to the Stanley cup.

    Islanders need to fail and get a top 12 pick and Horvat walks. That’s the best case scenario for the Canucks. I’d rather take the risk in 2024 that they do bad and we get a high pick

    Raty is a B tier prospect at Maximum. Horvat is a proved top 1 centerman, thats the difference.

    If the isles loses Horvat then its another story but if they sign him its such a win imo.

    There's too many "if" in the equation, "if" raty becomes a true NHL top6 , "if" Beauvillier finds his form", "if" the isles can miss the playoff and give high pick (max12) but still, and finally "if" that prospect becomes anygood. While Bo Horvat is already proven to be solid centerman while being a great leader.

    Who knew Thomas Hickey was this good of a commentator? I surely didn’t: Now I understand why SNY signed him, yes, he’s that good! I watch every NY Islanders game & he’s always on point! Good job guys, calling him for his opinions & analysis, he knows every player on the team from the farm system right up to Barzal.

    who cares if they make the playoffs, they are never going to beat the really good teams and they are going to be a very bad team in a few years with all the prospects and picks they have given away

    Does anybody know what Horvat's situation will be this weekend at the All-Star game? He was voted in by Canucks fans to play. The Islanders already have Brock Nelson and Ilya Sorokin representing their team. That means Horvat has to represent the Canucks this weekend. Am I right?
