#THE LEAFS ARE WINNING THE 2022-2023 STANLEY CUP.
Fuck the Bruins, fuck the refs, fuck the league.
Bad bad defensive decisions
Bad game by Sammy
No Auston
Fuck it
So what Soo Greyhounds are available for us to get to help us?
The GDT was so whiny.
They played ok. Sammy needs to make those saves.
leafs were the better team in this one, but having the refs completely on the bruins side absolutely ruined what was a pretty good overall performance. i really wish the leafs could have pulled this one out for dangle
im wondering if keefe addressed the situation between him and marchand with the team because they had all kinds of jump to begin the game
Well that just wasn’t a good time at all!
I’ll relish the day that Boston falls off and becomes washed up
Then we could bask in their collective suffering during their tank years
Then we’ll see who’ll get the last laugh
Not good enough. Short playoffs coming up:(
The issue with the leafs is we have too many of the same player.
Engval, Kerfoot, Aston-Reece and Jarnkrok are basically the same player. We need a complete overhaul of our bottom six.
Boston always has their plugs/ defensive d men pop off against us for no damn reason. Lost to tampa last year cause we had barely any bottom 6 depth and same issue this year. Even in a full strength/ healthy lineup we need at least two more forward pieces imo.
Now, let’s all make a really huge deal on how the Bruins « feeling good » going into the ASG break is going to somehow totally change the trajectory of their season for the better, while the lowly Leafs losing this game might as well trade their stars for picks because this game in February is definitely a full on indicator for how things are going to go in the playoffs.
Second time this season a Leafs player has needed stitches from opposing team’s stick with no call on the play. Ref refuses to get out of the way of a bank pass preventing a 2-on-1 and giving the other team a scoring chance. And on and on and on and on.
Bunting has to sort his shit, or he’s never getting another call again. It’s not his fault the refs are shit, but don’t make it easy for them. He’s owed 8 minutes from this game alone.
If Tampa wins all their games in hand, they’ll be 3 points ahead of us now
Samsonov is -3.00 for goals saved above expected this game. Terrible game for him.
Shitty loss, with shitty refs right before the all star game, i thought that was a piss poor performance, but holy fuck you’d think this game was Game 7 of the playoffs based off the GDT, Sammy had a shitty night and the players rolled over after the game got out of reach but no i don’t think we should be blowing up the team and firing everyone into the sun on a loss the last day before the All Star break
I know we all love Bunting, but he needs to cool it a little bit sometimes.
Being involved in EVERY scrum and the amount of screaming he does at the refs won’t help you. Not saying I agree with the way things are, but it’s the way things are.
Can’t shake the feeling that he’s going to really cost us at some point.
You never want to lose, and there will be PLENTY of other comments about the negatives, but there were a few things I liked out of tonights game.
I thought our physical play was largely good. Nylander continues to look excellent, and I thought support players like Kerfoot, Engvall, and Jarnkrok played their roles well. Overall, we played Boston pretty evenly for pretty much the entire game except for the last few minutes when things got chaotic and we cheated for offense.
There are of course negatives. Samsonov didn’t have a great night, he made some good saves early on but a few of the goals (the Greer and the first Zacha one) were backbreakers. The first line with Tavares, Marner, and Bunting just doesn’t seem to click.
Which island is Willy going to?
I do not buy that we were « outclassed », but the Leafs were sloppy and repeated mistakes cost us every time. Sandin was terrible after the first period, as was Samsonov. Simmonds playing is unjustifiable. He hobbles whatever line he plays on.
I was at the game. I wish I wasn’t.
Did not like Samsonov’s play this game at all. Boys played okay, but our lack of scoring threats outside of our top 4 is going to kill us come playoff time.
Bourne and Cosentino are actual hacks. Bourne literally dropped « this is a measuring stick game » for the Leafs – because as we all know, the only measuring sticks are the games we lose.
All this talk about « in another game this would have been a penalty on Marchand but he’s changed the narrative » and « Bunting can’t be doing theatrics with the refs » as if Wes McCauley doesn’t make his whole reputation on theatrics.
TV panels are already super low-quality content, but these two are among the worst. I swear at one point Bourne was a knowledgable hockey guy.
You just know that Tampa is somehow going to get Meier and Gavrikov this year and snuff out any hope of a first round win for the Leafs.
The bottom six are essentially players of low skill that lack imagination. They are pretty much as good as they’re ever going to get. A couple of D are not good yet, but show promise.
I don’t expect a cup this year but please ffs win a goddamn round go all out risk everything if it means getting over the hump. I’m sick of being the laughingstock of the league. I mean it’s also comments like this that make us the aforementioned laughing stock but look what this goddamn team does to me. 😂
First round exit, why are you going to bother to watch the leafs in the playoffs why?
Sucks that Samsonov didn’t have a great game. We outshot the Bruins this time and it was by far the least close game we’ve had with them this year. It should’ve been much closer. Whatever, on to the All Star break.
Is it possible to just lose a game without it being a scandal? We were without our best player, held Boston top four forwards to 0 points combined, held Lindholm to 1 point but they had better goaltending and their bottom six scored. And the goals came from guys who have 4 and 5 goals on the season respectively so don’t tell me this is because Boston can afford an elite bottom 6.
Nobody wants to talk about Rielly being an absolute plug? Nobody? Ok
Sammy seemed a bit bipolar tonight: stellar in the 1st and early in the 2nd, then things got really rough. 3 goals on 6 shots in the 3rd 😵 Seems like it could be a consequence of being overworked – I know he’s been hot at home, but Woll probably should have gotten the go.
On the plus side, the Leafs held the Bruins’ top players to 0 points. Sadly, Bruins depth >>> Leafs depth and as others have said, the Sandin and Liljegren pairing did not work well against this crew. Our 4th line was also just garbage, and it seems more than ever that the bottom 6 needs some added juice.
Simmonds was great tonight. Had that one shift where his forecheck led to two turnovers in the corner, nailed Mcavoy hard in the corner, and had some good plays that led to offense. This version of Simmer would be very helpful in a playoff game.
Rielly needs to be traded
I blame Fred Vanvleet. His puck control was non existent. I couldn’t even find him out there.
