This would be great if the price isn’t high. Perennial 20+ goal scoring winger in the last year of his deal. Wouldn’t want to give up too much, but if he’s available go for it all day.

I’m ok with it pending the cost. I wouldn’t want to give up more than like a ~3rd round pick or so.

I also want to see Pelletier with Huberdeau and Kadri more, if we can keep our future assets, give Pelletier top 6 time to develop and he continues to fit that line as well as he has so far we don’t need another top 6 forward.

I dont mind this because JVR wont cost more than a 3rd. Big cap hit with very little teams that can fit it, and he is walking at years end.

I still would prefer Duclair as he has term, but with JVR you know he is healthy atm and can produce. As long as we keep our prospects and 1st and 2nd pick Im happy. We did commit to winning so we sortve need to add

No thanks. No more washouts please.

How would that work with his cap hit tho? We would have to at least get rid of lucic to make the money work

  6. Wooden_Proposal_1615

Not a fan but he does have that net front presence we’ve been lacking

With kylis cap hit freed up with him on LTIR. We mine as well spend it on a rental. Correct me if I’m wrong?

I really do not want JVR. He’s slow, injured this year and not even having a good year.

Go get players actually having good years.

NO STOP! This was predicted as 1 of the top teams going into the season. It’s not working. Will it be better with another old slower player added to the roster? Stop the madness! No help to get it done! Send the message to these veterans that you want to make the playoffs do it yourself!

Unless he is free, major liability on the ice. Once a Leaf always forever over rated.

  11. An injury prone 33 year old rental with 8 goals this year. I have to say, this wasn’t what I was thinking of when Treliving was talking about adding a scoring winger.

I wonder what the price would be?

  12. tylosmacmewell

Fuck no. We don’t need more old slow players

  13. Grimmer026

I’d rather stock up on young talent. Lind of disappointed in how committed we are to older and underperforming players

Interesting. He said this about 6 weeks ago:

    9. Thought Calgary, looking for offence, might eventually make sense for James van Riemsdyk, but don’t think it’s going to fit.

Frankly, with Pelletier looking good on the 2nd line, hope Tree takes a step back and lets them play it out. Granted, that’s what his latest interview in the athletic suggested.

Yeaaaahhhh no, I see injury prone and I’m not even remotely interested in giving up any sort of asset to acquire a player like that. Too much of a gamble

  16. backchecklund

I’m not liking the whole idea of getting a rental. Why not let Pelts play?

  17. robbhope

I mean..21 points in 31 games is fine but I really, really, really, really, REALLY think we should explore a trade for Duclair. Like… Don’t just bring in some extra scoring… Completely revitalize your best offensive player (hopefully) AND bring in extra scoring. Seems like a no brainer to me if Florida is willing to dance.
