Just finished reading. Between this article and the Becoming Wild episode with him I am getting more and more hyped for Wallstedt!
Dream goalie scenario is that Fleury can keep his play up for one more season, finish out his contract and retire with the Wild.
Gus is an RFA so get him re-signed to a 2-3 year deal with the potential of a long term signing after the dead cap disappears.
Wallstedt finishes this season developing in Iowa and adjusting to the North American game. Next year he’s the AHL callup in case of injury, and then the 24-25 season he comes up after Fleury retires and we have a dynamic Swedish tandem of Gus and the Wall!
I’ve always wondered what would happen if we just put a Wall in front of the goal. Good idea
