I was dreaming of Bo Horvat in Minnesota but I’d take Boeser with a lot of salary retained too

Does Boeser play center as well?(honest question I don’t pay much attention to Vancouver) I’d love to see him in his hometown sweater, but we need a number 1 center.

We need a center, not another wing. Hard pass!

How is this still a thing? They don’t have the cash, end of story.

So we give them Dumba and a few second round picks or what? I just don’t see us parting with assets they would want.
I kind of hope we do it though because it’s becoming more and more entertaining that we’re still just rolling with one decent center playing on a checking line since Staal left, but we can still be among the very best teams in the West when we’re playing well.

Ahh yes, the ol’ story of « as long as they retain max, and maybe a 3rd team is involved the Wild could swing it, but we won’t talk about how much that would cost because then everyone would realize how full of shit we are in even talking about it » article.
Boeser is an underwhelming winger with a bad contract. If he weren’t from MN no one would be talking about him because he’s not a special player and not a position of need. This team isn’t winning the cup this year, and « a wing to play across from Boldy » is far down the list of what actually needs to be addressed on this roster.

Boeser doesn’t make any sense for the Wild. We have some depth at wing and no money to throw around.
If we could have got Horvat and somehow maneuvered around the next two years financially? Sure. But that wasn’t going to happen.
As much as everyone wants a 1C, I don’t think the Wild will do anything until the final year of buyouts at the earliest when the picture is the clearest.

Holy contingencies batman!
The amount of trade capital it would take to get Vancouver to eat 50% of Boeser’s contract *plus* a third team to take another 25% so we could afford it is not worth it. A Boeser trade is improbable at best.
The article also quotes a Tony Abbott article from December as justification for Boeser’s fit next to Boldy, so take this write up with a grain of salt.

Is it possible? Sure. Is it probable? No.
