  1. The Flames have only sold out 3 games so far this season (according to the last SDPN Episode).
The WHL must be loving the Bedard show as much as fans!

  2. My guess is that it's another deal with the Blue Jackets. For Vlad Gavrikov and Gustav Nyqvist. With the shoulder injury to Nyqvist, it would be another Riley Nash situation that he could be stashed on LTIR until the playoffs. Both are on expiring contracts. Both are at manageable cap hits. (2.8M for Gavrikov and 5.5M for Nyqvist). You have the option to get creative. Just keep an open mind.

  3. It's ridiculous IMO that I cannot go to the NHL website, select my team and pay $50 for the season to watch all the games and another $20 if they make the playoffs. I'm not buying cable or separate services to watch. I imagine it's because of the TV deals and exclusivity.

  4. I'm so glad I'm not listening to this with headphones. CJs audio is soo bad

Im not a fan of either the Avs or Canucks, to this day Todd Bertuzzi should never have been allowed to play in the NHL after that incident. When his name is even mentioned it boils my blood

  5. Great show, as always gentlemen. One note – Julian, your camera is moving around a lot, and it's a bit hard to watch. Not a big deal, really, but it did make me a bit nauseous lol.

  6. Love the Chaotic Neutral D&D reference Julian! I'm also hoping like hell we get more outgoing personalities in hockey in the future.

  7. the 90s lockout, first year of Bettman, the entire Bo Jackson era, the Wrestling steroid trials…so many

  8. If anyone is like me here's my 3 reasons why viewership is down,
    1. Wayyyy to much gambling/betting advertising, intermission shows even have panels that promote gambling now.
    2. Lack of physicality and fighting, rivalries aren't what they used to be. It feels like games aren't competitive as they used to be.
    3. THOSE STUPID ELECTRONIC BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS

  9. As a former NHL Live customer here in Canada, and a Leaf fan in BC, I was extremely pissed off at the NHL's abandonment of their product. The move to SN's online app for NHL games took away all of my TSN Leafs game, all of my TSN Jets games, all of the TSN coverage! There was no way that I was going to pay for SN Now premium and wind up with less coverage. And TSN is so mucked up that I can't even buy TSN Leafs coverage streaming because I am outside of the viewing area. The regional blackout rules are the most stupid thing the NHL has in place for both broadcast and streaming. So I am watching much, much less hockey this year compared to the past 10 years. I would gladly pay for the product I used to have, but since there isn't a way to watch legally, I get to choose between not watching or sailing the high seas of the internet. Thanks for nothing NHL.

  10. Leafs fans thinking they need a forward couldn't be more on brand. All the way back to Reimer this has been what the Leafs do. Every person outside can see they need defense. Gio is playing way too much already Holl hasn't improved and if he costs you 1/7 you are already giving up home ice. Lilly and Sandin have looked great but will that continue in the playoffs? On top of all that they can't even rely on the top pair to even stay healthy so far. Benn and Timmons are fine but do you really want them stepping into a meaningful playoff role?

  11. I don't like how all the Twitter moments from before Twitter are negative. The first thing that came to me was Ray Bourque hoisting the cup. Imagine the state of Bruins Twitter after that.

  12. A huge part of the viewership problem is a lot of people are illegally streaming the games including myself and the illegal streams don’t count to the overall number of viewers. The cable company and the nhl expect fans to pay an arm and a leg to watch your favourite team. In Canada we don’t get to watch tnt unless you have a top of the line cable package or you steal it.

  13. Chycrun Hes about that salary should the Yotes retain a couple million or the Maple leafs make a trade and clear some space.

  14. It is too hard to find and watch GAMES! I don't really care about the peripherals. Blackouts are ridiculous! Make it easy and affordable or goodbye.
