  1. Other way around. Raty was considered consensus first overall in that draft, but he slipped because of a bad draft year. He was picked in the second round. Beau can easily be traded to the Habs…they'd love to have him.

  2. Hindsight is 2020 if your winger puts up 100 points and no one is offering a good enough trade then you either resign or let jt walk for nothing dammed if you do dammed if you don't. Jim putting the canucks in cap hell thanks to myers and oel means they couldn't resign him. Not defending managment but gota see it from all sides.

But we'll see how these picks and players play out over the next year or two to see how this turns out. Islanders could also flip bo or not resign with islanders but who knows

  3. Watch Horvat signs back for less in Vancouver. If he wanted to stay a canuck, should of taken pay cut.

I look at Miller situation as he if he isnt a lifer canuck, he was consistent up until this season. You do gotta show these guys the money or onto next one.

Horvat could of stayed. Lived his forever a canuck legacy.

  4. Nucks are banking on being worse for the remainder of the season to improve their Bedard odds. It doesn't matter that they have Beauvillier. They have R2D2 who may yet become something and the Isles' protected pick. They could potentially get Bedard plus the Isles mid-round selection this year OR they could have Bedard this year and bank on the Isles being in the lottery next season in which case they get another elite prospect. That is the plan.

  5. Canucka get Connor Bedard… Hahahahahahaah – They'll will find a way to win themselves out of the top 10 and still slide – Isles probably win the cup too knowing Canucks luck. We'll get a couple of Swedish bust noodle wingers out the draft and carry on scraping our balls along the basement of the NHL for another 10 years. 😒

  6. Its a futures trade for Vancouver, It was as perfect as it can get.

Raty was selected in 2nd not first, you had it backwards.

Also, Jim already pulled on his retool comment.

  7. Bouviellier is probably more of a cap dump to balance the money than Van actually wanting him.

  8. Buddy is giving all the wrong info. Aatu Räty was drafted in the second round, not the 1st round. Beauvillier is 25, not 26. Come on man.

  9. It's no longer about what we think the direction Canucks should go in is, but a matter of how far they can go in the direction THEY themselves choose to go. Only time will tell who is right and who is wrong

  10. Connor Bedard is a very good player, maybe he will be great. He's a top scorer, but he isn't magic. Scoring hasn't been the Canuck's problem. So far. With Bo Hornet gone, does their scoring drop off? Is that the intention? I don't see how the new signings improve the defence which has been the problem all year.

  11. Raty was supposed to go number 1 in 2021, but had a bad draft year. He could be very good

  12. Why sign as a free agent in Vancouver? They score loads and have lots of up front talent. That equals big numbers which equals big money.

  13. Last time NY saw Carolina in the playoffs they got swept, and carolina was arguably a much worse team. They're kinda delusional if they think that's a good matchup this year

  14. Maybe during the off season the Canucks offered Bo $7mil/season based on his numbers before and he didn't want to sign because JT got $8mil/season. Maybe the Canucks referenced that Landeskog took $7mil/season a couple of years back. No one knows what happened during the summer.

  15. “He wanted out of New York for a while now”

When did this happen? What happened to you guys lol just spewing nonsense

  16. 2:25"I think the Islanders have their eye on the Hurricanes, and they think they can take them. 'Cause they've done it before."

The only time that the Islanders have faced the Hurricanes in the playoffs (2019, 2nd round), the Islanders got swept.
The Hurricanes have looked better this year than they did in 2019 going into that playoff series, and the Islanders have looked worse than they did back in 2019.
If the Islanders want to face the Hurricanes, I think that the Hurricanes would take that all day.

  17. That guy sucks with his stats Raty second round and Bouviellier is 25 it’s all on capfrendly…. Hard to listen to

  18. Bo has under rated playmaking ability. He just has played with many linemates that could actually finish. He lacked a true top 6 line mate

  19. Why does anyone presume the Canucks wanted Beauvillier in the deal and that the Islanders didn’t insist Vancouver take Beauvillier?

  20. When someone traded for you by giving up so many assets for you, it is only a courtesy to sign with the welcoming team. After all, Bo was a captain and basically was the spokesman for the team and leads by example on and off the ice. He has that integrity you trade for. He won't screw the Isles, like their ex-captain Tavares screwed them! No worry Isles' fans!
