1. Don’t think they should trade for him. Not what a team who is heavily rebuilding needs.

  2. No way it gets done, it have to be Gallagher , a 1st and a prospect. For money to work. And unfortunately we stuck with Gallagher terrible contract

  3. It's Cole, he's probably asking for way too much money, so that would be the piece to go. Cole at $8M or Meier at $9, I take Meier, hands down.

  4. Every day, I read a new trade rumor involving the Habs. I guess logically speaking, A good GM will have their ear to the ground and know who's available. If a piece fits, I don't see why Hughes wouldn't package a deal to get a player like Timo into the lineup only because Timo's 26 years old. If Timo was 33, I would say it's really not in their plans.

The Habs have a slew of prospects and they won't be able to keep them all. So I'd rather the Habs trade prospects than lose them for nothing.

I feel like Christmas is 4 weeks away and look forward to see what Daddy Hughes gets me for Christmas.. lol But seriously, I trust this administration. Our trade bait unfortunately have been hampered by injuries or have had a sub par season. So I can't say I expect much. So if the Habs don't end up making any significant trades, it's because they just didn't see it helping the team and that's the responsible thing to do. I don't want them to make trades just to make trades and hurt the team in the long run.

  5. Sometimes you need to scratch a back to get your […] picks 😉

  6. By the time the Habs are competitive he will be 29 years old. With a big ass contract. Not the player we need

  7. The only way I can see the Habs maybe making sense for timo is as a middle man, get a decent prospect for taking some of the cap hit

  8. I wouldn't be mad if the package was similar to the horvat one, Habs have the spare parts to move, they need actual players who can score in their lineup. But if san jose is expecting a top 10 pick, walk away

  9. I wouldn't be terribly pissed if we got Meier, depending on what we had to give up. Im hoping next season the plan is to at least make the playoffs, I can't handle another season of under .500. If it's something like a 2024 conditional 1st round pick, a good young D man like Struble, Harris, or Barron, and someone like…Hoffman, or even Monahan, that sounds like a fair deal, 2024 conditional 1st round pick, Barron, and Monahan, that's a pretty fair deal, one that i could live with. Sounds good for both sides.

  10. we have to be careful as we do not want to lose our young dmen..so guhle, barron, harris, wifi are out… we can not give up future stars for 1 player..we need to pass on him even though he was a moosehead

  11. I really think the habs should wait after next draft to start making big trades (unless we're selling)

  12. We all agree this makes no sense. Plan is already set for the Habs. They are looking to be competitive in 2 uears not before

  13. It's a nice storyline for Pagnotta going into the deadline, I'm sure it got lotsa clicks, Meier is a great player!

Makes 0 sense from Montreal's perspective, Meier would actively lower their chance at a top 3 draft pick.

Don't get me wrong. Meier is a great power forward, we'd love to have him. Just the amount we would need to give up, plus the extension he'd be asking for idk… He's not worth giving up an A+ prospect and a pick, let alone the young roster player San Jose would also be asking for.

Don't trade for a top 6 forward or top 4 dman without having a concrete path to the playoffs (Looking at you Islanders). Picks and prospects have more value under the Hughes administration so let's stick with that mentality for now. Strike on big name UFA's and trade targets later on when Caufield, Suzuki and Dach are in their prime.

  14. What's up Buddy. You sir are correct. we got this draft coming up with a possible few good picks. we still got in my opinion can't miss guys in Mailloux, Hudson, Wah Wah, and Beck. and a few other good possibilities. We are at the point of who we are going to keep and not keep. I'm sure you can dedicate a full podcast on what this team will be like in 2 years. There maybe like 4 players that we have now on defence that maybe gone. Hudson And Mallloux (League approval) are sure bets in my mind. And Xhekaj. They'll burn the Bell Centre down if they trade him.

  15. It's complicated but it makes a lot of sense. If it's done there will be more signings/ trades going down before the next season. Look at how the team was competing with monahan. With lots of injuries we are heading back to the bottom of the table and still competing with a young inexperienced defense. With some cap maneuvering I can see this team competing next year. Without injuries I think the habs would of nearly made the playoffs.

  16. Hard yes with this analysis. Habs need an elite playmaker (as I've said here, Suzuki ain't it). Let's find that guy first. Caufield needs help. Suzuki is a 1b or a 2a. Cole needs a 1a to reach his potential. So does the bouncing baby power play. Suzuki early season stock right now is tanking harder than post-Musk Twitter shares on whatever stock market will still have them over for poutine. Let's hold our draft picks close to the vest while we figure out how to throw down the two of hearts that is Joshie Anderson, the Power Horse with No Play. The roulette wheel is spinning – lets put our chips on as many slices of the pie as we can pull in like Scroorge McDuck in a Disney cartoon. Stop playing to the cheap seats and jumping on the early season "Playoffs!" bandwagon and get 'er done.

  17. No disrespect to David but man he himself has “kicked tires” on a lot of players namely on TSN 690 radio in Montreal that never ended up there. Nothing to see here folks, except my buddy Matt’s much more entertaining take as always 💪🏻

  18. If he's down to it…hmmm….hate to say it…buy out Gallagher's contract, the guy's been busted up too much already. Or Dubois, he wants to go to Mtl. Gallagher's contract is too much $$$ and has a no trade clause.

  19. Montreal might be interested in retaining half of his contract in a 3 way transaction ..Habs get a draft pick from this year's rental contract of Timo …

  20. No thx to Oscar meier weiner. Habs are rebuilding and this guy is too old and ready for a huge payday and this is not the type of asset we need atm.

  21. His contract is coming up so sharks don't have much leverage I'd be ok trading Anderson and Harris for him nothing more
For dubu I'd trade Dvorak nothing more as we know he wants to come here and will eventually
