  1. My Guess: Puljujarvi gets traded to Florida Panthers it's been a blast having Jesse in EDM but u gotta make the money work out for Oilers to save cap space for this deadline and Yamo off LTIR,

  2. It was lackluster in my opinion. Good to try new things, but 10 minutes of commercials between each thing (exaggerated) was very annoying.

  3. Watched YouTube highlights of the all star game and that had lots of fast forward. That was more than enough . As far as JP , it’s been going on too long. Hopefully a fresh start will help him. Team needs the cap space as well as a little more toughness

  4. I'm sick and tired of the Jesse Puljujärvi trade rumors. If we trade him good, if not whatever. It's not the end of the world. We could use him for depth and lose him through FA. Chychrun is not going to happen. There is no way Chychrun will come to Edmonton if Broberg, Holloway, or Borgeault are untouchable. Those are players Arizona wants in return. Arizona will go for whoever gives the best deal available. I don't see it happen. I think they should go for a bottom 6 guy who can win faceoffs.

  5. I didn’t watch it and don’t feel I’ve missed anything. Instead I just spent time with the family.

  6. The old way was so much better. East vs west in a full game and just do the legit skills none of the stupid little games.

  7. Oilers need 2 things at the deadline:
    1. a middle 6 F or Center to fill up the spot that Foegele, Pul or Yama should have taken
    2. a 2nd pair LD to take load from Nurse

Cap is tight, so they need to move someone, and Pul is the logical option. It just doesn`t work out in Edm and right now he`s a 4th line player costing triple the cap hit. I like him as a player, but he never managed to score and play constant. Same is true for Foegele, and in parts for Yama.
Bjugstad from the Yotes would be a good addition for need 1. – can play center, provides physical and secondary scoring.

For the 2nd need, Chychrun is not the right player – Oilers need a defense first D to pair up with Barrie, the guy Klefblom or Larsson should have been. So they should look at someone who can stop opponents from scoring, and I think that Walman from DET would be a good fit. He`s playing next to Seider and stabilized their 1st pair, naturally up vs. opponents top line.
He skates well and has a good 1st pass, doesn`t score much, but that`s Barries, Bouchards, even Nurses job.
Both would fit if you only trade one player (Pul) while Chychrun would require to basically cap dump 2 players – Pul + Foegele.

  8. i'd love to trade 2023 1st/ 2024 1st/2024 2nd Kulak and foegele (cap wise/ need to free up a LD spot) for Chychrun and Bjugstad then trade Puljujarvi for Noel acciari, but maybe that would be too much change in the locker-room when it comes to team chemistry

  9. Patrick's take on Puljujarvi Rumors is bar none better than mine, if you haven't already PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THIS MAN!

  10. The main problem in trading Puljujaarvi is that most teams don't want to take on $3 million of cap space with a player who is not a $3 million player. The Oilers will likely have to give up a prospect or high draft pick in order for someone to take on Puljujaarvi's cap hit.

  11. Chychrun proabably cost Oilers the 2023 first-round, Broberg, and a prospect in AHL. According to some scouts, they think he is Nurse 2.0.
He has never played a full season in the past 6 years. The most games he played in a season is 68.

  12. I like S Skinner and it’s nice for him to be at the all star game. But seriously to call him an all star diminishes that honour in my mind. He’s a good goalie and all but he hasn’t even played a full season in the NHL so in my mind he hasn’t payed his dues yet and hasn’t earns that status. The all star games are just silly now. The best format I liked was when Stanley cup champs played all stars from the rest of the league.

  13. I'm still trying to recover from the Marner and Pastrnak breakaway attempts
