Another situation showing that the CHL rule that prevents players from going to the AHL instead is a joke.
Guenther was stuck in the situation where he was too good for juniors, but not necessarily good enough to play in the NHL every night either. Sucks we burned a year of his ELC just to send him back.

I am fine with this move. Hopefully next season there is an open spot in the top 9 (or even top 6) for him to play as opposed to being on the 4th line or as an extra forward.

I mean the tail end of the season is gonna be a poo slurry for us anyway. I think he’s better off taking a run at the Memorial Cup. He’d really cooled off anyway.

Oil Kings just made off like bandits with that trade. Don’t think there was any expectation of him getting sent back down to the WHL.
