He wasn’t AHL ready yet. He’s also sadly a bit injury prone.
He will finish out the season with the Winterhawks. As u/froah said, he wasn’t ready yet to be facing grown men on a nightly basis. The year in the WHL will do well for him. It will get his confidence up and also hopefully allow time for him to put on some weight, too.
There was some hockey pundit talking about this type of thing on the weekend. I don’t remember who it was, but their theory was that learning to « be dominant every night » isn’t as easy as it looks, and isn’t necessarily a bad thing for prospects.
Well shit recent news proves me right lol. Fr tho this is shitty for him and I hope it won’t derail his career.
He’s not playing for anyone right now, he just had surgery again. His injuries could affect his future at this rate.
