All star games are dumb
Why not have the allstar game mean something? The MLB awards the teams league who wins home field advantage why not do that in hockey?
The games get more exciting, we can see the top players of the league actually trying against each other and then do away with the 1 player per team selection cause its diminishing what it means to be an all star and leaves some of the best talent in the game out.
The all-star weekend is garbage now… Bring back west vs east, let actual hockey minded people out the event together and stop following political wholeness, the jersey were awful.. also the announcers should at least know the all stars names…. "Sold out arena" meanwhile plenty of open seats through our the show lol.. 0 cares for it next year
It's just boring to watch. Understandably, no team wants their multimillion dollar investments to get hurt, so everything is at 1/4 speed, and the goalies look like they're half asleep, and played like they were told not to try too hard, which they probably were. I don't know what can be done, but the whole "All Star"" weekend needs some sort of revamping, as a lot of this one looked like a circus side show that went from cringe to embarrassing to boring.

The title is misleading. This was NOT a "game." It was a boring, half-speed exhibition put on by disinterested players who were wholly ambivalent about the outcome.
Skip the game and expand the skills competition if this is how it's going to be played. What's next in pro sports; having your name on the font and pronoun on the back?
There is way too much white on both jerseys, hard to tell them apart at speed. They either need to change the graphic of the star shape so less of the "secondary" color is visible, or make the front and back of the shirts the same design so that it will be more of the main color. I mean really, West jersey is mostly black on the front, but mostly white on the back, then East is mostly white on the front, and very-light-blue-that-is-almost-white on the back?
Ovechkin is that one guy who takes everything seriously, look at him throw his stick at Pastrnak after he picked his pocket. But, that's the kind of mindset that makes you an all time great.
