  1. Can we get a video on horvat trade horvat signing, strome, milano signings. Would love to hear your thoughts!

  2. Sabres won't go for Kane, don't need him. He's a Power Play specialist with some of the worst defensive metrics in the league. Sabres need a reliable 2 way forward to add to their top nine, and a reliable two way/defensive defenseman to pair with Owen Power

  3. As the owner of the world's largest Dylan Cozens card collection, I couldn't be happier. Wooo

  4. Rangers are sweating after this one. That Chytil extension is going to cost some serious $$$.

  5. Not only does Cozens drive his own line, (with two rookies yet), he can also play all up and down the line-up if need be. A great signing by the Sabre's. He may well be Buffalo's MVP by the end of the season!

  6. I don’t know it this isn’t the year to go for it, obviously you hate to throw anybody under the bus but if you called Chicago and offered them a lottery protected pick, Aspund, and let’s say Ostlund for them to retain half of Kane’s salary that gives you a ton of options, he might even resign with his hometown team if they are winners.

After that you could easily call up Arizona and pull that goalie out of there for extra stability.

Even if you didn’t want Kane, Chicago also has Tyler Johnson (who is a winner with experience, something that is kind of lacking from this group), you could grab a Max Domi for a bit of fiesty in the bottom part of your group.

…not sure I would grab Kane, Domi, and Johnson all at once but if you did you could put Peterka or Krebs back down…especially with Krebs playing on that fourth line.

  7. Kane would love to come back to Buffalo, but not at 10m. That would upset the Apple cart, they have signed Tage at 7.5m/ur. And he could argue for more.

  8. If the Sabres are gonna make a move at the deadline it can’t be a forward. I’d really love to see them make a move for Chycrun or a player like that

  9. I'm glad you think so Shannon and glad ya did this video. We love our scrappers and hard workers around here, he and the fanbase are highly compatible

Okposo's contract is still fat but it expires this season and he'll prolly come back for a more reasonable number for a season or two more

Dahlin will take a hometown deal to stay cuz otherwise we won't be able to afford him for the $10M+ he's gonna be offered. That dude is also Buffalo through and through and loves being here

Power is gonna be as good as Dahlin and I have no clue how we'll keep them both. He's playing close to home and loves the team and his teammates so maybe he stays for a discount too. I hope they both know they could have pretty much anything they want except a championship cuz they need a whole team for that. And this group could bag multiple Stanley Cups

  10. Love locking up the young core long term Cozens has been having a great year as has really the team in general love the progress they’re making. Let’s go Buffalo!

  11. Shannon…you seem so bullish that you got….excited. Like…actually excited. Love hearing it. Keep the good news coming 🙂

  12. Thompson and now Cozens signing certainly means they are taking care of their players. Okposo may be next.

  13. I almost cheered at work when the Sabres App notification came up about the extension. Worth every penny. Love this guy and what he has added to the team. ⚔️

  14. I love where this team is heading. Adams has locked up the top 2 centers for $12 million less than the Leafs. The future is super bright.

  15. 9:00: The other thing about Boston is they may a team that has been in coast mode for weeks. Buffalo is going to have to scratch and claw to get that wild card spot, maybe getting in on the last day, and be going on all cylinders.

  16. The Thompson and Cozen's deals are both steals for Buffalo. This sets a Boston like "for the team" sort of mentality with players will to take less for the future. Which of the other younger players get greedy with contracts like this already in the books. Just don't go out and spend $10MM on a Timo Meyer deal and blow it all up.

  17. Sabres progress. Love it. Need it to go faster. Get Kane+, make a run = energize fan base.

  18. If I were to pick up team in NHL 2k to run franchise mode, it has to be Buffalo.

  19. Love that mid market teams are giving young players a lot of years before they even sniff free agency.

Imagine all the Thompson to Toronto, LA, New York etc talk there would be right now if they didnt resign him last year. It would be sickening. Now Cozens joins the list of players like Tage, Connor, Hintz, Hughes, Hischer, Norris etc that are locked up long term through their prime years.

  20. Patrick Kane is overpaid, old, small and injured and I wish people would stop mentioning him in connection with the Sabres

  21. I wouldn't give them too much credit for deciding to trade Eichel, they didn't really have a choice. They were more than willing to force him into the lineup with a fused neck

  22. I am happy to see Buffalo improving this season. I remember when you were doing the power rankings before Seattle even play the game and you had the Kraken ranked ahead of Buffalo

  23. It makes me happy to FINALLY see some success for the Sabres. I've only been a fan of the sport for a little under a decade so all I've known of this franchise is miserable management and zero hope on the ice. But I agree, Shannon, that this team feels different. Not to put all the blame on Eichel, but the Eichel culture of 2015-2021 is finally gone. It really does feel like that era of the 2010s Sabres is behind them. It would be awesome to see them in the playoffs this year.

  24. I'm so fired up right now find me a brick wall and I'm running through it your speech on Buffalo being a dangerous team in the playoffs literally gave me chills. I think the story of Patrick Kane coming home to finish his career and teach this young team how to win playoff games and series would be so amazing every time Chicago is in town half of the fans at the game are wearing Kane jerseys. I think the offense might be set for the future and we're 1 or 2 nhl caliber defensemen away from this team being dangerous after that the goaltending is a little up in the air but if UPL keeps the pace he's at he will be the real deal and we have the rights to possibly the best goalie in college hockey as well

  25. Any piling on Eichel is more than deserving. Sorry Vegas fans. But I hope Buffalo makes the playoffs before he does. Or even better…. he never sees the playoffs

  26. I thought the Tagè bill was super team friendly. This one with Cozens is less so, still good to lock him up for a decent number going forward. I like it
