Decent upgrade over Stone, but Brad shouldn’t be giving up much for him as he’d likely be a 3rd pairing guy.

Is this year really one we want to upgrade at the deadline for? I think and I know people will be pissed is trade Vladar. Some teams are in dire need of a goalie, Vladar isn’t getting what he deserves for time and we can’t trade Markstrome. We could get a first for our amazing back up. Then Hopefully next year we see Wolf as a backup

Just get it over with already we all know it’s gonna happen. Big physical dman for Sutter? A rental depth dman for Brad? No chance this doesn’t happen
Y’all deserve him, he can be wicked good. What would Flames fans want in exchange for him? I ask this as many Canucks fans are valuing him as worth a 2nd rounder, which I find a bit unreasonable.
Edit: Tanev for Schenn and a Third?
I’m perfectly okay with this if we can get him cheap, our biggest weakness is the third pairing especially when anyone gets injured. If we get someone who can play more consistently than stone and bump him back to the 7th man we won’t have to ride the top 4 guys quite as hard (as long as schenn can fit decently into our system)
I don’t want to see us throw away what little picks/ prospects we’d have to get a guy like meier or even Kane. If we pay the ransom for meier we will essentially fuck ourselves, assuming an extension is minimum 9.5M then we’ll have 27M tied up just in huby-kadri-meier. That’s going to keep us from extending guys like lindholm and andersson in a couple years and we will start to struggle to keep depth guys and will look like edmonton minus having stars good enough to singlehandedly carry the team…
A simple addition like schenn and ride out the year to see what happens is all we need, THEN look at bigger additions we might need in the offseason/ into next season when hopefully guys like huberdeau find their groove again and play closer to the level he’s capable of.
