We’ve never had two goalies that you feel confident in before, this is pretty neat, also the sudden ability to play team defence and rapidly growing depth scoring means this Oilers team feels different, not strictly the Connor and Leon show like the last few years
They have the fire power and vegas, and la,and the cracken r faultering.calgary cant keep up so,they r in and soon on top,but like the jets, goaltending will determan the outcome,oh and fair officiating.
Yes
ngl, i was definitely not a fan of campbell during that first half of the season but i always hoped he'd get settled and find his game. seems to be the case now and hopefully he'll just continue to get better. i don't think the oilers will win a cup but they may get close in the next few years.
Not really true…last night against detroit, neither McDavid or Draisaitl were good….albeit is doesn't happen very often.
Is nobody able to look at the shedule? They had / have a favorable stretch, and that`s a part of why they are 8-1-1. And don`t forget, the OT loss was vs. a horrible Columbus team.
They have not been that bad when they struggled, but they are also not as good as the talks are now.
Still have plenty of issues, though goaltending doesn`t look like one anymore.
But their defense as a team isn`t great, and it`s what keeps them from being a contender. They lack 2 way forewards, and as good as McDrai are offensivly, in their own end they are average.
The D-corps i mediocre, as their top 4 is just not good enough. Seems like Nurse, Ceci, Barrie, Kulak, they all play one spot to high for their skill level.
Nurse would be a great 2nd D, but as your top D he`s too often out of position and lacks scoring potential.
On top, they have a issue with 3 of their middle 6 F: Yamamoto, Puljujarvi, Foegele eat 9 million cap but lack output. Derek Ryan is taking the empty top 6 RW spot, Kostin and Janmark provide for 2 million cap hit what the other 3 aren`t able to give.
As much as i would like to see McD and Draisaitl – and Hyman and RNH, who are playing great seasons – to win, that`s too much topics.
Guy brings up Matthews/Marner as if they are a real comparison
This dude really said pettersson and boeser like boeser does anything even close to what pettersson does 😂
Edmonton would have won the cup in 2006 if they had two good goalies like they do now.
Completely separate thought but Mikko Rantanen is severely underrated. McDavid/Draisaitl is easily the best forward duo but I think Marner/Matthews is only other one that is equal Mackinnon/Rantanen.
He’s just rambling on, too many punches to the head that one.
Yes the Oilers are and more 😁🇨🇦
They are a problem for any playoff aspirations 😁🇨🇦🇺🇸
Love this gloves off talk 🥊😆🇨🇦
🎯😆🇨🇦
Lafleur Lamaire 😆🇨🇦
So happy 😆🇨🇦
Jack was a starter In Toronto. Not a 50 50 goalie. Now he has the opportunity to show what he jas
some of you should look at the recent schedule before planning the parade…its about as soft as possible
Thanks TIPS
COILERS 💩
I hope so they deserve it
ESPN analysts must have known or saw something before everyone else did. Last summer, before the 2022 2023 season got under way, ESPN picked the Oilers to win the division and go back into the top 4 with a likely chance of moving on to the Stanley Cup finals. Perhaps it was because of a soft schedule down the stretch. Or perhaps they knew some pieces were developing well on the farm eg. Vinny the Giant, Skinner and others currently active in the line up. Tons of teams were calling for Vinny the Giant last summer and Holland turned all those calls away. Then the Kane disaster injury happened and all bets were off. The fact is the Oil managed to stay in the hunt, as ugly and inconsistent as it was, without Kane, Vinny and Kostin. NHL fans from around the league can laugh all they want at the Oilers current heater – citing that they're all soft teams. But we won't even talk about beating Seattle, Vegas and Tampa Bay. The fact is Edmonton found a way to stay in the hunt for 3 or 4 months without key players that are now in the line up, one being Kane. So as much as NHL fans from around the league like to believe the Oiler's current heater is due to a soft schedule and weak Pacific teams in general, the Oilers are far more equipped and prepared to beat any team in any division. Better goaltending, better D, better defensive structure, more balanced line up, grit and toughness has emerged throughout the line up, PK under control, depth scoring, and the #1 PP in the league. If non Oiler fans are looking at this current run as a fluke or easy stroll in the park because of soft teams, you're not looking close enough.
Lets go Oilers!
