According to sources, the Rangers targeted Tarasenko – a player they long coveted – and decided to go for it after feeling the asking prices for Timo Meier and Patrick Kane were too high. Also sounds like New York had some concerns over Kane’s hip injury.”](https://twitter.com/emilymkaplan/status/1623768434843521024) – [It doesn’t sound like the Rangers got to asking price point of discussions with Blackhawks – because ball is still in Patrick Kane’s court coming to Chicago with what he wants to do. But the NYR didn’t want to wait on him, and also had concerns about his hip.](https://twitter.com/emilymkaplan/status/1623773120116011010)

Awesome idea, I’m curious how this deadline unfolds. That said, I’m not sure if I’d put Horvat and Tazer at the same level, but I guess there really isn’t another comparable right now
Seravalli has some decent information on fits and comparables for trade deadline targets:
* [Kane](https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/will-blackhawks-icon-patrick-kane-join-a-new-team-at-the-trade-deadline)
* [Lafferty](https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/blackhawks-have-mined-a-deadline-day-diamond-in-the-rough-in-sam-lafferty)
* [McCabe](https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/is-it-worth-buying-high-on-blackhawks-jake-mccabe-at-the-trade-deadline)
* [Toews](https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/how-big-of-an-impact-can-jonathan-toews-make-as-a-trade-deadline-acquisition)
What about Domi? Wasn’t he only signed for a year?
Interested to see what McCabe could return. I think he’d be a great fit for a team on a cup run that needs a steady defender.
I’d like it if Chicago traded McCabe to Edmonton for Kostin or Broberg.
Domi and Stalock for either Ty Voit, Kallgren, and Holmberg or Robertson and a middle draft pick would also be acceptable seeing as Domi is exactly what Toronto needs, and Stalock could be a great backup goalie as well as Robertson being a great potential second line sniper.
Horvat is highly overrated
