  1. How many times is Armstrong going to cycle guys on and off the team? I’m surprised Perron wasn’t somehow thrown in the deal so he could return for the 17th time.

  2. I don't know what the Rangers would say if, at the end of the post-season, the Habs would give them one of their first round pick (if they don't get the first overall) for Lafrenière. Maybe add a lower round pick with that.

  3. Really like this for the Rangers. Obviously Tarasenko is the central piece, and that's probably what the first rounder got them (and it's basically guaranteed to be at least in the 20s based on the condition), but Mikkola is a pretty significant piece. Sure, the offense isn't there, but he's gotten 50 games in the STL lineup for a reason. Big boy, fairly young, you feel pretty good with him as a 3rd pair or 7th defenseman going into the playoffs.

  4. Can the Blues just have one big player who’s a lifer? Hopefully Thomas and Kyrou can be those guys. I feel like everyone I love on our team gets moved on from by DA.

  5. I'm a Rangers fan and I see nothing fleeced here either, I think its a good assessment that this trade is not any kind of blockbuster, but does make sense for both teams based on their own situations in terms of the playoffs and how the traded players involved fit in with their new team over the old one. I think the Rangers ultimate improvement or disappointment compared to last year is just based to me on if the kids line which is playing at a different level in the last 2 weeks than at any time previously is for real. If it is for real then this team may go as far or farther than last year as long as Shesterkin stays healthy and continues to his slow but steady improvement towards the level he reached last year because they will need every bit of that just to get past the Devils, Canes, Islanders, Penguins.. and then actually get lucky should they see the Bruins or the Lightning.

  6. people are making as if NYR got Tarasenko for 5 years at 5 mil or something.
plus he was as good as gone, not resigning with stl

  7. Tarasenko's injury history and contract had an impact, not surprised it was Rangers being his friendship with Panarin ( apparently even went as far as to tell St.Louis's FO about him when he was a rather unknown).

  8. I'm gonna miss Tarasenko so much. He's such a damn great player. Panarin is definitely gonna help him reach that next level hopefully in the playoffs. Tarasenko has been to the finals he can definitely help the Rangers in the playoffs.

  9. Not really much cap space for the Rangers to keep Tarasenko, is there? They have younger players to sign

  10. To me Tank will always be that player who never quite lived up to his potential. He was good. Very good some years. He could have been great.

  11. Not a bad return considering Army could really only negotiate with a handful of teams. He would have been gone sooner otherwise.

  12. That is sexy move tarasenko will fly in rangers under panarin 😀 i have never even heard of sami blais so it tells enough of his level 😀 wonder why stlouis traded their number one winger to ahl roster filler but maybe thats all u get for rentals

  13. I wish we could keep Tarasenko long term, because I think he fits what the Rangers don’t do well, but Chytil is gonna get paaaaaaaaid.

  14. I agree with everything you said, except for the Blues D being deep. They may have a few big names, but the defense is very porous. Losing Mikkola will weaken an already anemic blueline.

  15. Tarasenko wanted to go play with Panerin. He urged the Blues to bring him in prior to the Blackhawks signing him

  16. Blais is a pylon who never recorded a goal in his NYR career. Skinner will never touch the NHL. And we gave them picks because our team is like average 23 years old. Rangers won this trade.

  17. Rangers completely robbed the Blues here. And Rangers only gave up the lesser of the two first round picks.

  18. Appeciate the breakdown THG. I wouldnt mind to hear your analysis on Drury as a GM (maybe during one of your team breakdown videos) since Rangers had a good one in Gorton who was kicked out the door. Some time has passed, has Drury filled those shoes?

  19. Good trade for both teams. It’s a win for St Louis if Vlad don’t resign with New York and if the Rangers don’t win the cup

  20. 4th turns to a 3rd if the Rangers make the playoffs and St Louis gets the lower of the rangers 1st round picks either Dallas or New York’s I think those are the conditions

  21. I know it's a pipe dream, but I'd love to see Vlady come back to St. Louie after his contract is done! 😆

  22. Just wish they didn't lose Perron before doing this move. The Blues definitely lost a piece of themselves when they traded him!

  23. Sammy B. was never the same after his injuries in N.Y. Vladi T. Will regain his scoring touch on the line of with bread-man, and ; Zibby.. a dangerous line indeed..
