[James Nicholes] Nemec et L. Hughes hors de la table dans un commerce du diable.
Maybe this is or isn’t obvious but I’ve been asked a few times so I’ll say it.
I’m told both Luke a Hughes and Simon Nemec are absolutely off the table in any trade talks. Non-starter. #NJDevils

Damn. Fitz really is playing hard ball here.
Thankfully the cupboard is still plenty stocked for a big move.
Good – I trust Fitz won’t do anything stupid here
No reason to move anyone of them
Anybody asking for either of them knows it’s not going to happen – only using it for positioning when they meet somewhere in the middle.
Obviously. We aren’t trading our future top pairing.
Good stuff. I trust Fitz to make a good trade. He’s been very patient so far I don’t see him jumping the gun this year and risk the future.
If a team can trade a Sammy blais for taransenko and then they try to take the devils top prospects it obvious Fitz can hold off
Sheesh just looked quickly and saw “Nemec” and “trade”
Nice, I can unclench my butt now
This is not surprising; I’m one who almost always values proven production over prospects’ potential and am wary of « draft busts » but the Devils obviously took both these guys with a long term plan in mind so they should certainly see it through. Unless some insane situation arose like McDavid deciding he can’t live anywhere but NJ.
Good! This is the youngest team in the NHL and getting better. Why hamstring the future when we know the team will be better next year?
Thank fuck. Nemec needs to be untouchable. We have more than enough in the prospect pool to land who we need.
Don’t you dare move Mercer either!
Not surprising, plus we still have plenty of attractive prospects we can dangle with Holtz, Casey, Mukhamadullin, Gritsyuk etc.
Hughes is untouchable. But I wouldn’t be opposed to trading Nemec for the right player. Especially with Hamilton and Marino locked down long term on the right side
Tom Fitzgerald Masterclass incoming
I’m shocked that the top D prospect in hockey who is also the younger brother of our superstar 1C is off the table.
I’ll always find it interesting how going into the draft that the 2nd overall pick was on the table, but now that the player is drafted he’s completely off the table.
Not saying we should trade Nemec, but it’s just fascinating to me.
Stating this is like publicly declaring the sun is hot
That’s not news. Every team knows that, but they can try and ask.
