@Flyers de Philadelphie

    [Flyers announce Dan Hilferty has been hired as CEO of parent co Comcast Spectacor. The team says he will « partner » with Dave Scott, who will remain as chairman.
    In release, Hilferty calls himself a « tenacious Flyers fan. » He led Philly’s successful bid for 2026 World Cup host.](https://twitter.com/frank_seravalli/status/1625566644557778966) Seravalli

    Based on that quote, he sounds like he actually cares about Philly sports. No idea on his competence, but that’s a step in the right direction from the apathy we’ve seen from Comcast the last few years.

    Interesting, maybe a first step

    Hilferty was CEO of Independence Blue Cross for quite awhile before stepping down a couple years ago. People thought he would make a run for political office – sounds like he’s going more for his passion in his post-retirement.

    “Partner” – JFC it must be nice to be an executive at Comcast. It’s like the Flyers refuse to pick a direction for this team and we are just floundering in purgatory.

    How Scott and Fletcher still have jobs is truly amazing. Rearrange the deck chairs fellas!

    I’m gonna go ahead and choose the optimist route since the pessimist route is covered trifold in this sub

    Wooo! Dave Scott no longer has full control! Hopefully this puts Fletcher back on the hot seat and is the start of the ship pulling itself from the reef!

    So will he fire Fletcher before the season ends or after?

  10. Part of me thinks Hilferty might be good from what little I’ve read. Then there’s another part of me who thinks this guy got hired just to take the heat off Dave Scott.
