Ballsy move benching one of your most offensive-minded defenseman when you can’t score goals.

I don’t know why merrill is immune to scratches honestly

I’d like to see Gus get more starts.

I’m more intrigued by having Fleury in net. Do we want to win tonight or what?

Last time we played the Avs, Addison had assists on all 3 goals in our 6-3 loss. Almost 4 had Ek finished on a breakaway Addison sprung.

I don’t normally critique the coaching decisions but this one feels really silly. Especially when the veterans appear to be held to a lower standard.

Dean said he’s done talking about how they can’t score- well sorry, but I don’t see much else to talk about other than lack of offense and trade speculation. Scratching one of your top offensive presences just doesn’t make any sense to me.

I understand holding your players accountable, but the rookies’ leashes are turning into nooses while the veterans continue to play extremely undisciplined hockey.

I looked up Brent Burns and Matt Dumba again because of someone who posted about moving Addison to forward. It’s been a long, LONG time seeing Brent Burns from way back, but he had a few years of -10s/-15s, but didn’t explode offensively til going to San Jose (sigh). Then again, he’s 6’5, 230, so Addison couldn’t be Burns if he wanted to. Size is something you can’t teach.

Dumba’s a closer comparable in size, but his +/- isn’t NEARLY as bad as Addison’s were. For all the flack we give him, Dumba posted stuff like -5 and -7, but didn’t really have a huge offensive output (highest was 50).

So, I don’t know. Is a lot Dumba’s less shitty defensive stats due to playing with Brodin all the time? Is Addison getting screwed being with Merrill intead? Is it due to the ups and downs of the Wild’s total goals? I’m not really sure. I don’t know if giving up on Addison is a great idea ,cause that’s a lot of years to lose out on a guy who COULD improve.

But keeping Addison is just like watching Dumba, you watch in awe of his stupid defense while knowing the offensive gifts are there.

*note: these are mostly surface level stats. Someone who knows more about the nitty gritty stuff can answer this a little better*
