Faisons cela! Le balado Cult of Hockey. Par les fidèles et pour les fidèles, ce soir avec Bruce McCurdy et David Staples. Ils profitent de la victoire de 6-3 d’Edmonton sur les Sens d’Ottawa.
Great breakdown of the game fellas, well done indeed.I agree Kulak has elevated his game to match his Teams playoff push which is in full swing right now, he is bringing a 100% effort every game. This man just needs to continue to do his business as he is doing ,nothing to see here. Great Job Kulak …Rest Rinse and Repeat. Go Oilers.
Dang!! I haven't seen the game yet so this headline coming up on my feed sucks lol. I was about to comment in another thread about how I really like PJ's play other then he can't seem to score much, but how that could turn at any time. Glad for him!
we're all so stupid – we forget, how good or bad players have played in the past so fast. Strong game by the oilers – certainly not their best, but they were solid.
"… who cares how you play (defensively) in the regular season?" — really, David? … A lot of people care – including his teammates. His goalies certainly care. His coach cares. … Yes, any team that makes the playoffs has a chance at the Cup, but teams that finish higher in the standings get home game advantage – you know, like the Oilers had last playoffs against the Kings. … "… who cares how you play (defensively) in the regular season?" Most of his team and his coaches care, David.
Wow for once I agree with Staples. Lets be honest do you really want players with concussion history? If I am Holland, Waive Yamo till the end of the year, recall when playoffs start if still healthy. And a 6 for Nuge? His line scored one goal, he scored a goal….. need some consistency in your player grades.
Hi guys!! I was at the game!! I haven’t been to one in years. Wearing my new Zach Hyman jersey. Jersey and tickets for Christmas. It was fun except for the Kostin and Forsberg injuries. Didn’t see the other one. I watched Desharnais for a while during the game. It’s different than on TV when the camera is following the play right? To my eye he was playing good positional hockey. What I really noticed is that he wasn’t overcommitting. He was hollering out instructions to other players at some points. I was liking what I was seeing. Zach is a beast!! He was everywhere. His penalty shot was a beauty. Jesse’s goal was a beaut! Woot, woot! I was asking another Oilers fan if he thought it was a good idea to have McDavid on the PK. He says high risk high reward and literally one second later McDavid gets the puck and… well you know what happened next! Leaving the arena I heard La Bamba blasting in somebody’s pick up truck. Made me think of Ben. Play La Bamba baby. I don’t know what an Edmonton home game feels like(maybe someday) but a huge shout out to all(there was lots) of them/us at the Ottawa game. There was a Let’s Go Oilers chant in the second period as loud as any Sens chant. Awesome day! A matinee win and no Hyman goals called back….seriously… Woot, woot!
Most beautiful goal: Derek Ryan's! That's the sort of gritty play needed in late season. If JP stays in the system, he has the incentive of reviving his NHL career, at least somewhere. Even in Edm for less?
while its true we can't catch the really dominant cities of Vegas – our city is showing it can really compete and has tied the dominant city of LA and not far from WPG -so that is impressive – shows we can walk on the same streets as these people. Way to go Oilers !!! but Klim has been important so that will hurt
I just watched the McLeod goal in slow motion… Cudos to McLeod because he started the play deep in his own zone… another player might have glided behind the play after giving the outlet pass. 97 of course was magic to strip the puck and to pass to the open McLeod who must have busted up the ice in support of McD. And McLeod didn't fool around in puting the gift from 97 directly into the net. Good work…
you gotta a toronto maple leafs tattoo that doesn't embrace your current life commitment? i'll find someone to burn it off with lasers or acid or some newfangled technology that i couldn't possibly hope to understand or commit to — fack! they'll turn you into some sort of porpoise or cow for mass consumption. gosh darn boards of canada
In this game, the Senator's biggest mistake was their attempt to engage the Oliers in a "run and gun" styled hockey game. And, let's face the facts, the Senators simply don't have the speed, the fire power and defensive capabilities to match up man to man against an offensively gifted power squad such as the Edmonton Oilers.
honestly ~ I'd rather have Kostin than yamo…… just me perhaps~certainly not a hot take IMO though….. Kostin is a splendid enforcer, draws penalties like a magnet and has a knack for positive plays….Mr. Staples has a modest Recency Bias…..

I know I'm nowhere near the league of The Cult of Hockey but it is a decent summary.
Nice win, Campbell looked yucky on first and third goals! Maybe Poo can find some mojo now.
Big Vinny D's malevolent black tooth grin after engaging with Tkachuk is my good thing, what a beauty!
Afternoon guys. Greetings from Van. Island.
Bit shaky at times early, but it's the results that count. Fun game. Go Oil!!!
Vincent Desharnais is a +9 in his first 11 games in the NHL. That's pretty incredible.
Jessie being playing well I think but hasn’t been scoring maybe he’ll get the goal’s coming now
Hopefully kostin is alright…

Love the thumbnail
Pizza 73 should sign their next spokesperson asap
Holland likes players who can skate!
Yes we love the bison king!
I’m just hoping kostin is ok, he brings toughness that the team needs for playoffs
McDavid was a man possessed today. He was absolutely hungry for a win. Just unreal.
I thought I seen kostin play later in the game?

PULJUUUUUUUUU!!!!
Hes a keeper that Bison King. Hoping he'll resign at a bargain price.

So glad JP got a goal tonight, and a beauty too.

Don't want to see Benson up with oilers ever again. Never does anything noticeable!

Vinny Pizza 73 D! +9 in 11 games. He's such a great fit for this team and a big reason for our heater. We need to lock him up.
I really wish that it could've worked out with JP. Unfortunately, his time is up in Edmonton. I hope he can find his game wherever he lands.
Dave gets very worried at this time of the year for fear of change to the roster.

whelps among dawgs — effin mcdavid clowning d and goalie, poolpaarty deserves better
that's a good crosscheck mcdavid. you are owning your silly ads. like just crosscheck those two fitness people with a pool noodle. boom! boom!
campbell played well except ottawa didn't shoot enough
i'm telling you that lavoie isn't worth the money he's printed on: i've seen him in halifax and the guy is another jesse

Agree with you there, David. I'm uncomfortable with anyone being traded, chemistry's very important.
