@Jets de Winnipeg

Selon The Athletic, notre ajustement commercial parfait est… James van Riemsdyk (?)

J’ai totalement oublié qu’il jouait encore

Maybe?? We do need skilled wingers. Not sure how he’s doing these day. We is his contract up?

  2. He wouldn’t be a bad 2nd option if we miss on a big swing. Probably would be cheap top 9 guy who plays a net front playoff style game.

  3. winnipeg-active

If we pick him up and then add a defenseman we’ll be ok. The assets we would have to make available for Meier would easily get JVR, a good defenseman, and more, and we have plenty of cap space.

May as well just go for Hayes again. Outside of maybe Konecny, which they already said was not being traded, I don’t want any flyers.

JVR is quietly having a solid season this year. 22 points in 35 games, positive xGF%, positive defensive metrics while mostly playing with two young players in Frost and Tippett. That line has probably been Phillys best line this year.

Biggest downside to him is I think we need a right hand player more, but I think he would fit in well playing either with Lowry on the 3rd line, or taking Perfettis spot in the top 6 as someone Bones would trust more defensively.

Honestly, Meier, Toews, maybe Barbashev and a top 4 stay at home D man or nothing. Any assets the Jets don’t spend this year they can spend next.

They are a team with a ton of depth already both upfront and on the back end so depth guys are completely out of the question for me.

I don’t want to see them lose all their young talent for a depth guy or a mediocre rental if PLD and others walk leaving them with nothing in 3 years time.

  7. This would be a fantastic pickup for us. Flyers best line driver and could impact our team the same way statsny did during our run.

Anyone interested in Puljujarvi if Edmonton goes after Karlsson? Fits the bill as a very defensively responsible winger that can do middle six if there are injuries. Some rumours he might be nearing waivers meaning he’d be a cheap pickup.

  9. JVR’s not a terrible option as a middle-six guy depending on the cost of acquisition. He’s got decent metrics on a bad team and plenty of playoff experience.

  10. fdisfragameosoldiers

Not even if Philly sends us a 1st ad a sweetener. He’s not good enough to be in our top 6 and doesn’t fit a checking role.

Could be a sneaky big upgrade for the third line if he comes in for a good price. I like getting Toews for the same reason, assuming Chevy thinks he can still play.

Would rather get Bertuzzi than jvr.

Honestly have never been a fan of JVRs game. Not a great skater, not defensively inclined, operates in a 10ft radius. Never been a great forechecker at turning pucks over, doesn’t block shots. Really good at cleaning up pucks netfront thats without question but rarely does the generating. Starts nearly 70% of TOI in the Ozone. He wouldn’t help Lowry score more and in a 1for1 I’m taking Wheeler over JVR so he wouldn’t play top 6. He can help PP2 though for sure.

  14. ArrestedForTaxFraud

Not the best, not the worst. He’d certainly fit as a net front scorer, has good underlying stats. If we get JVR then I’d also want to get another centre probably

I don’t think he would be a terrible pickup with some salary retained. Would save some room for us to get a guy like Luke Schenn as well.

Every suggestion that is for a left shot forward is a non-starter for me (EXCEPT Timo, who is too good in every other way).

It’s very apparent that Bones wants another right shot winger in the top/middle six, especially late in games with the lead.

JVR would probably be relatively cheap, but he doesn’t fill the real need the team has.
