Bailey drives me and everyone else crazy. If the guy took more shots, he'd most likely have more points more goals and the one thing that he's been missing CONFIDENCE!!
Lee is no first line winger, but he produced with Barzal and who else can we put there?! Lee by default.
Thompson needed to go YEARS ago! I also think that Lou, when drafting, he depends on our scouting. And as we all know, our scouting is freaking TERRIBLE! So how much blame can be put on LL?
Seriously? Lee was last good in '17-'18 playing with pj judas. Same line with bailey the 71 pt. assist man and last season he was useful. Now five years later and older and slow as a snail this wont move the needle one bit. If this is lane's answer to things then just throw in the towel on this season. Pathetic this team has virtually no trade chips or no picks/prospects to move to right this sinking ship. Lou should have just let lee sign with av's, hawks, or habs like he was gonna do as a ufa. Lou panicked signed lee to that ridiculous deal after panarin played him like a fiddle. Everyone knew that deal would age badly given lee's slowness. I'd trade barzal for all of the la kings blue chip prospects RIGHT NOW. la is gonna be a player at tdl with their riches of prospects. Isles on the other hand are about shit out of luck. Should just hope for a clean sweep of losses to pitt, b's to prepare for the inevitable. Lou should put up the 'SELL, SELL, SELL. ALL MODELS MUST GO AT ANY PRICE' sign. You suck lou. The question is how much more damage is lou willing to do to this team before he exits for good not knowing if that is after this season or when it will be just to be a playoff bubble team? Some poor gm in waiting has quite a job to do cleaning up this lou mess they will be left with. Just hope lou jr. doesn't get the job. And had lou landed panarin vt would be an isle right now instead of both tearing it up on broadway right now. Thanks lou. I hear toews (not devin) can be had for cheap. "long awaited changes to the first line". We've seen lee with barzal so many times! It doesn't work. This team is so dumb. I can't even watch them anymore. BORING!! They are boring, predicable and don't win. Rather than take a risk and BENCH bailley and play ishkakov, they just di the same old rinse and repeat bS that doesn't work. Lou is a joke.
This kind of goes back to yesterdays question of what isles should do. Best scenario. Tailspin the rest of season getting into bottom 12 and keeping that first this draft. Isles would have to drop below buff and det in east and one west team like cal. or wild to get into bottom 12. Deal varly for a first/prospect mayfield for a second/prospect. Parise for ? Isles have two firsts and two seconds this draft plus add another pick/two prospects. That is good asset management. That is how you build up the prospect pool. Then buy out bailey with one year remaining in off-season. Replace with younger player. Can't do anything with lee, jpg, palmieri, czikas, cc yet.
Finally seems most agree that Bailey is a waste of a spot in the lineup, I’ve been saying it for 2 years. He shouldn’t even dress, he’s too worried about looking cool for his family and fans. He doesn’t hustle, he doesn’t check, he doesn’t shoot, what does he do ? Lee on the top line, smh, we all know the isles aren’t making the playoffs, they shoulda put one of the kids on the top line. At first I couldn’t wrap my head around the kids being in a line with #17 but I think I figured it out, Lame / Lou is gonna “ease” the kids into the lineup and not put much pressure on them, #17 has been surprisingly good this year, he’s disappointed me in his lack of pugilistic numbers this year cuz the isles have been run at. Like I said, a complete overhaul isn’t needed for next season, some tinkering yes. As for the comment of trading Barzy to La, I’d give him a full season with Bo and if he still can’t crack 35&50 for 85, he’s gone. I still and will always blame Trotz for turning Barzy into a figure skater, skate, skate skate, pass or lose the puck. Simple process, get Bo near the net, apparently Lee near the net and let Barzy and and then D shoot !
I think Barzal needs to be at center because he's more of a playmaker than anything else. Let Horvat take all the faceoffs tho.
As for Thompson Sr, he’s been a yes man since he got to the club, he’s just towing the company line no matter who is GM, Lou wants the minor league team to play like the major league team with no deviation therefore there is no development of players other than the defense. Tage is having a breakout season, I don’t know if it’s the linemates or a freak season but I’m sure Sr didn’t see this coming but good for Jr, wish him the best.
