  1. They are showcasing Holl for a trade. That’s what I choose to believe.

  2. LeafsRealist

Keefe when Holl takes dumb penalties: oh dear, gorgeous

Keefe when Timmins takes dumb penalties: you fucking donkey

  3. He can fool himself but everyone from the outside can see that he’s biased and can’t even stay true to what he said a couple days ago. God forbid Holl sits until they lose, or Timmins actually has a bad game.

As a player I feel like this has to be one of the most annoying things. Keefe says don’t give him a reason to take you out, and then he finds his own miniscule reason in a 5-2 win.

  4. kingex11

Leafs need an upgrade in that spot. Neither Holl nor Timmins should be in the starting lineup in game 1 vs Tampa.

  5. MOshow1967

Not one of those penalties are called in the playoffs lol

  6. ElephantShell34

Holl is going to play all 7 games for the Leafs in the playoffs this year we need to accept this.

  7. Dmbpjfan

With this logic, we wouldn’t be able to ice a team. On the ice for a bad goal? Sit in the press box. Turnover? Sit in the press box. Take a penalty. Sit in the press box.

I just don’t get why 39 year old Giordano can’t rest. Yes he’s an important defender and has said himself that he doesn’t like days off, but does 13 points in 21 games mean nothing? Okay Timmins took 2 penalties last game… He has had 3 minor penalties total, freaking big deal. His last penalty was December 29th.

  9. Broton55

One of these guys is primed to make a series losing mistake. Holl last year, galch the year before. Get someone better at the deadline and end the carousel

  10. Devonw90

13 points in 19 games. 6 total PIM. Holl takes more penalties per game than Timmins (granted he plays more minutes, though). Timmins contributions offensively are so much more impactful.

I’d rather play Timmins in a more limited role than Holl in a 21 minutes per game role. We acquired him and he’s been more than a pleasant surprise. Why not try letting him continue his development. We already know what Holl is. Timmins at least has a bit more untapped potential.

  11. lmaoleafs2022

I refuse to believe this is the actual reason after watching Holl catch the puck like a baseball and try to throw it away, like come the fuck on lmao

  12. buddachickentml

Does Justin’s dad own the team?

  13. ripDarkk

Holl must be suckin good Leafs management dick.

  14. howsshegoin

the correct call – my main takeaway from that game was also the two minor penalties timmins took. I was screaming at my tv. love that sheldon has an eye for such things.

  15. Deluxechin

Oh good, a 6-1 loss inbound with Holl being a -5

  16. SDAisaleaf

Keefe: we’re not going to read into this game, good or bad

Also Keefe: Get the fuck out of here with your 2 penalties, Timmins

  17. AustichMavarlander

Yea that makes 0 sense…… keefe loves guys like holl and kerfoot who suck ass because theyre his guys. Way too much trash like that on this team. Everyone here would take Timmins in 6 over Holl

  18. james-HIMself

Holl can do no wrong apparently. I really don’t want him playing 23 minutes in the playoffs when we have Timmins

  19. desperatehouseknivez

It’s definitely just an excuse to put Holl back in.

The « 2 penalty » thing is just dumb.

  20. Ryuzakku

How the fuck does Justin Holl have such a long leash?

He’s a constant liability, you cannot tout him as your third best puck moving defender when the rest of his game is so terrible.

  21. scooby_ej257

Is it just me or does Keefe seem a little bitchy lately? getting babcock vibes from him sometimes. He’s never consistent with his comments or personality, flakey man.

  22. PersonalityLiving300

Keefe has to go, take out a guy +3 and insert a guy that is always a negative. He is still a farm league coach.

  23. sokocanuck

Probably just one game to make it clear that he can’t do that.

  24. fakebob1

Justin Holl is a hill that Keefe is willing to die on.

  25. Further proving why Keefe isn’t that great.

  26. RattledRed

I dont think i agree with this… 2 penalties sure, but maybe give the guy slightly more run way? He was out for a long time. Holl seems to mess up more then that, and stays in for longer periods… idk.

I just dont agree, but w/e, glg! 😀 lol

  27. throwawaythisuser1

I have no idea what Keefe’s plan is here, but I want to believe that he is trying to find the most effective pairings. I just wish Holl was a bit nastier with some physicality to his game.

  28. bigveinyrichard

Crazy how strongly people feel about a bottom 3 D personnel swap, holy hell

  29. KJMoons

Just showcasing Holl for a trade I hope lol

  30. Hustler17

First game in 19 days he takes a high sticking penalty and goes +3 with a goal in a 5-2 win and one of our least stressful wins all season. That first ‘penalty’ was not a penalty just game management. Also only his second real penalty call in 19 games…

  31. Leafyboy34

Fuck man, really do not wanna go into round 1 with Holl in the top four at all. Not saying Timmins is a better option either, but I just hate the thought of Holl being the guy to battle in front of the net against top guys. It’s just been done to death with the same results. It’s not all his fault either, he’s serviceable on your d core, but just not that high up. I really don’t envy Kyle come deadline day. Shit needs to get shored up and the options are not great, but you gotta figure something out.

  32. Babock93

Holl must be a good keif cocksucker

  33. Rowdy_Roddy96

Can someone take away Keefe’s favourite toy in Justin Holl like jesus lord. Holl gets so much rope on this roster yes statistically he’s not as bad as people say he is but lord when he makes mistakes they are inexcusable

  34. jimmymeeko

Some of you guys just have no clue how a pro locker room works. Holl isn’t going to be sat for two games in a row for no real reason. A message was sent to him by being benched for a game + it was a convenient way to get Timmins in the lineup and keep him going.

Holl is a solidified part of the lineup and he isn’t just going to be sent to the press box for multiple games in a row without his play having fallen off a cliff.

Who else was going to come out? Sandin after he just had a very strong game? No? Top pairing Reilly or Brodie ? Also no. Lily who has been playing strong hockey and is being turned into a legit top 4 d man? Also no. The super experienced giordano who has stated he doesn’t like days off and doesn’t need one? Also no.

Keefe needed to get holl back in and Timmins is the easy option to swap out as he isn’t solidified into the lineup like the others are.

Don’t be surprised to see Timmins in the next game though.

  35. Murky-Smoke

When you (allegedly) sit someone for this, it can backfire. They may start playing timid and lose the edge to their game which makes them effective.

I hope this is just a line for the media, and he said something else to Connor behind the scene.

  36. Pteoughneigh

Yeah idk man. Holl takes dipass penalties too, at the worst times. Hard to read this as anything other than the teachers pet getting back into the game
