Funnily enough the Hodgson for Kassian trade is what really got me reinterested in hockey. After 05-07 I was too heartbroken as an impressionable tween and needed a break.

Also a reminder that what happened to Cody Hogdson is not his fault. He was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, a severe and potentially fatal condition related to abnormal muscle breakdown. He was a great player who would have had a great career if it were not for that.

He was actually solid for his first two years with the Sabres. It seems like he dropped off due to his disease, which wasn’t diagnosed until a couple years after Buffalo bought him out. Went from 0.71 ppg to 0.61 and then fell off a cliff to 0.17. Hope he’s doing well. Also, if anyone cares, he has a surprisingly long Wikipedia page lol.

Why was he not LTIRetired?

Devils are still paying Ilya Kovalchuk for TWO MORE seasons after this one and he hasn’t played for them since 2013, a decade ago!
Even worse he came back and played for the Kings, Habs and Caps while the Devils were still paying him

Hahaha I just saw this a few days ago and went “wow”. Erhoff is listed on there, though I don’t know why since it’s at $0.00

He’s running the Nashville Predators youth hockey outreach right now. My son got to meet him during his Learn to Play camp. Super nice guy that’s still giving to the game.

What’s worse than that is Ralph Krueger made $11,250,000 over 3 years.
As someone with the same last name…. It’s HODGSON. not Hogdson.
