Pittsburgh in the 7th seed got closer to us last night, but the Islanders crept closer to our 8th seed. Big night tonight with almost every team active.

Such a good trade for Toronto. They are definitely going for it this year. If their goaltending can hold up they will be a force. But, damn, that goaltending does not inspire playoff confidence. (Although Colorado was in a similar state-of-affairs last year)
I could certainly see them selling out to get a GK. Not sure where they find the spare $$$ for one, but I can see that being a priority

Lost in all this a bit but with the Blues fire sale that 2nd round pick we got in Leddy deal is looking really good. We also got Walman and Sundqvist. There’s a reason this rebuild is going so good.

Vrana needs to get in, but no one really deserves to be scratched. Tough situation.
I think Copp has looked tired in the last two games, when he’s actually noticeable. I would scratch him if we had better center depth. I don’t think Lalonde would ever do this, but I’d put Rasmussen in his place for a game so Vrana can get in. Maybe a second line of Vrana – Rasmussen – Berggren?

I know its still early but the fact that we could theoretically end the night 1 point out of a wildcard spot with between 3 and 4 games in hand on the teams ahead of us is super fucking exciting especially where we looked like this season was heading 2 months ago.
I don’t know if we are going to buyers/sellers/neither at TDL, but 1 player that I know Stevie can get a 1st rounder for is Perron. Dude has ice in his veins and can be a great playoff run add. I’m just hoping for exciting stuff either way.
One of the big side bonuses of the Toronto trade is that it closes another door for Patrick Kane and the Blackhawks. It sounded like the Rangers and Leafs topped his possible destinations and those doors are now closed. I hope he’s stuck in Chicago through the end of the year and the Blackhawks get zero assets for him.
