What a horrible take, he isn’t having his jersey retirement for the league, it’s for the Ottawa senators and what chris Neil means to the community and to the franchise is legendary. Growing I remember kids wanted an alfie jersey, a spezza jersey or a Neil jersey. May have not been a point scorer but the impact this guy had on the people of Ottawa, I couldn’t be happier he’s up in the rafters.

Nothing wrong with Chris Neil getting his jersey retired by Ottawa. He was a household name here for years and still remains in the community. Never heard any rumors eal issues with him and he played for the jersey. I am not even a fan of Chris Neil's being a Flyer fan(living in Ottawa) but I think he deserves it. Played hard every night so got give the man his respect 1000 games nothing too shit on.
That hit on Drury was legal at the time unlike the moves Kaleta used to pull. Also your team isn't exactly a shining example of how to build a team, when was the last time you made the playoffs? You sound bitter. Go watch Ottawa eliminate Buffalo in 2007 ECF final and have another good cry.
