Unsurprisingly, very few skaters in the plus for offense. Losing Ovi and Carlson hurts, but we’re paying a *lot* of money to Backstrom, Kuzy, and Oshie as well.

This checks out with how the game went. No one but Kuemper was better than average, and a whole bunch of the team was just horrible. Makes me wonder if there’s a flu or COVID going around.

Orlov and Jensen have been hot garbage for a while. Not surprising to see this.

it’s a perfect image of what this team actually is. we don’t have any actually really good young players, and most of our good players are too old and slow to carry the team anymore against teams with more skill
i look at our roster and there are legitimately up to 6 guys where I ask myself « why are they even on the team »
like at least Eller, despite everyone dogging him, is a decent defensive center who can be relied on in the d-zone consistently, but guys like Matt Irwin, Nick Jensen, Mantha, etc were brought here for specific reasons and yet they suck at doing the specific things they were brought in to do. we bring in Irwin for his veteran defense and he sucks at defense. We brought in Jensen for mobility on the blueline in all 3 zones, and his defense and transition game suck ass. we brought in Mantha for his size and shot, and he sucks at using his body and is having the worst goal scoring year of his life. Gustafsson is the best addition by far.
