  1. Anybody tell me why Miller to Detroit is a bad idea? They need him, he needs them. I say Miller to Detroit for Zadina and a Fourth round

  2. Beauviller is a great player but just so you know canucks fans there is a reason why beauviller was traded he is fast and has skills but the guy puts up points then disappears for like 15+ games

  3. There seem to be some solid RHD options this year between 13-22 so that could be a better option than waiting around for what is going to happen next year.

  4. The best for you guys is hope and pray that pick this year conveys to 12 like it is right now and be done with it. Pray your pick with the lottery gets you all the way to the top 3 and actually not blow the picks like Gorton usually does up in MTL Hughes is just the cap guy and glorified secretary and translator

  5. When I first saw this trade, my initial thought was that it would be a lower 1st round pick and I was and still am happy with that. Beauviller has completely replaced horvats points and goal production on the team. So imo the trade is a win right there. Canucks did lose a good faceoff guy though and that's going to hurt them the most. Other than that, they have a decent prospect and a 1st for the price of losing some faceoffs essentially.

  6. There's always a team that nobody expects to completely divebomb. That's why I'd like to see the Islanders take a top 12 pick this year just on the exciting chance they noseplant and land the Canucks a top 5 pick and a lottery ticket next year.

  7. really dont see the isles being worst next year, most likely theyll have a better season. also considering how stacked this draft class is id much rather have a 13-20 pick now than next season

  8. also im pretty sure the projected #1 next year is eiserman, the american forward

  9. So far so good for the Canucks. Albeit only a small sample size, over the last few games Anthony Beauvillier stats are decent. And Beau does not seem to have any problems getting down the ice quickly. Unlike the lead footed Bo that the Canucks were able to foist upon the Islanders.

  10. Yeah I agree with you leggo. This is the way my thought process has been, a mid round pick in this year's draft is alot better for the construction and process of this team than an 'anything can happen pick' next year.

  11. its easy we want the islanders to gain the 13th spot the end. I think the islanders will have a better season next year so we want this one and besides I have no idea what the 2024 draft class looks like

  12. At this moment the Isles are 16th overall. So we would get pick 16 which would still be decent. But who knows yet where they will pick cuz the Isles could realistically still go on a run in the playoffs if they make it.

  13. If this year is strong/deep and next year is weak/shallow, then I think the best case scenario for the Canucks is for the Islanders to win so that we keep the pick this year. A mid 1st rounder in a strong draft could be a top 10 pick in a weaker year.

  14. they could crap the bed this year, keep their 1st round pick, pick up some free agents this summer and vancouver gets a late 2024 pick in a weak draft year after they light up league next season.

  15. As a Sens fan, it was a surreal experience in 2020 cheering against, and then for, the New York Islanders after they acquired Pageau and the conditions attached to his trade. As a fan, you want the highest possible pick, and I personally thought it was going to be around the 18th or 19th spot – until they started winning in the playoffs. Then you're like 'that conditional third if they win the Stanley Cup might be doable,' lets go Isles! Alas it fell in an awkward spot of 28th overall. Extremely happy with Grieg however and as a fan, you just have to have faith that your GM and scouting department know what they are doing where ever they are drafting.
