Sabres are going nowhere no defense look forward to next year.
I thought for the first 2.5 periods Buffalo played like a high school team. I was so frustrated that all they did was dump the puck out of possession so many times. Even when they had so much time to make a good decision/pass they ended up flipping it up and a whistle for another icing. To me this was the worst first 2 periods this year. They got lucky and UPL played great to ensure that.
P.S. UPL please do not touch the puck outside of your crease – from everyone.

Wayne, I too sometimes have to turn away. If I watch it will make them lose. This time I watched, it wasn't that bad, the stress. When they start not playing good, its like they all turn off the anticipation for where the puck is going next. You would think it wouldn't happen to all at the same time.

I missed this game as I finished doing a 24-hour dance-a-thon at my school. I did a little scoreboard watching, and I was mixed on my thoughts going in the 3rd. I fell asleep and saw they won later. Yay.
These guys have had plenty of rest. They know they have to play hard if they want to hit the playoffs… This team needs to play hard and understand that we need to win and thats all there is to it!!!! If this core of players wants to stay together they need to be hungry at this point of the season and play hard! I was worried the last 6 games…. They lost 4 and won 2… Love how they do what they have to to get out of rutt. I think Tage has been in his head to much. He has been ok lately but very indecisive on his finish either when he is gonna score or make a play. He is a young guy and its gonna happen. But were gonna need him on this stretch to be our goal scorer. Skinner has been racking up the points but he is week on keeping the puck in the zone. These players have to be able to protect there zone at all times, then go out and Make the right play at the right time to score… I think skinner is a good player but weak in his zone. Yoke has been playing terrible lately. sit Yoke and bring bryson back in with clauge. Goalies!!!!!! Lukes had a great game on Saturday! My opinion on our goaltending is that we waive comery. Trade for a goaltender that can give us 2 more two years if Lukes doesn't work out. We all though we had that with comery. They need a Vet that can still play hard and win games and teach there de men. If your gonna trade and give up some prospects in your system, you should understand that Levi is gonna be a few years. We need a goaltender. I do like what i see from Cousins!!!!!!3 game scoring streak!! after he signed a new contract!! That's what i call earning your contract. Dahlen and cousins are the face of this franchise. Tuch also, he loves it here and so does dahlen and cousins. There a great core!!!!!! I am exited for this team!!! But if they dont make it! I will be rooting for them next year.. But I will say this!!!! Sabres are going to the playoffs this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have the 2nd best winning percentage in the playoff challenge group. 5- 20 goal scorers has this team on the right path.
They need to just somehow get a ten game win streak going

if buffalo can go on a little win streak, and get above the pack, with those game in hands.. that would be huge. then they can nurse whatever they have, and not panic when/if they lose. still a very young group.
Shockingly the games I can't watch we always lose. The games I watch 2 out of 3 times we win.

I will not give up hope until the Sabres are mathematically out of the playoff race. I don't understand how anyone can be a fan and choose to not believe we still have a chance.
It's a valiant effort but ultimately I think they'll fall short of the playoff's. Goaltending is just way too inconsistent, and the defense aside from 3 players is just not very good.
Kakonen made this a tighter game than it should've been, my daughter is very annoyed by her Sharks failure. She rather huffily told me "Well we've been to the cup final, Buffalo haven't made the playoffs!" (She's 12 so she's never seen a Buffalo post season and San Jose made the final the year she really got into hockey) I told her mum, my long suffering Canuck who smiled and told me "thank the stars we aren't Toronto fans or we'd really be burnt!" The joy and innocence of youth. 😋
