@Avalanche du Colorado

It was sort of a reverse of the wild game. Started out sloppy held on and then turned it on at the end instead of the reverse.

  2. Thank for hitting this on the weekend. USU listen to the cast, but this is big.

  3. Two things. First, I don't totally agree with you about Georgiev. It was the Janmark goal you were thinking about I believe where it was shooter v. goalie from the top of the circle. That situation just depends on how you look at it. You can easily say that an NHL player from that spot on the ice with a clean shot should score almost every time. You can also say that an NHL goalie with a clean look at a shot from there should make the save most every time. Which version you go with probably depends on which team you're rooting for. look at it objectively and that's probably close to a 50/50 shot.. Second, I don't see much of a way that putting EJ on LTIR would change their plans for the deadline for one main reason – they don't have a whole lot of assets to trade. What are they gonna do? It's not like that extra money automatically gives them an extra first round pick that they can trade. They're going to need some of these prospects that they still have to make and contribute to the NHL roster in the next couple of years strictly because they're cheap. I don't really expect them to do much over the next two weeks other than minor depth moves like maybe bring JJ back for a 7th rd pick or something.

  4. Crazy Train is such a great pick! That game was such an emotional roller coaster. Went from what looked like a route to an incredible, hard fought win. Ball arena almost blew the roof off!

Soundcheck 📣 Dig – Mudvayne: The Avs had no quit in them yesterday. They found themselves in deep and then got to work and played to the final bell.
Avs fans needed to see a win like that to restore a little hope back into the dream.

  5. Two weeks ago I thought winning the division was a pipe dream. We start getting a little healthier and now all as sudden it’s a real possibility

  6. I’d love to see a rematch between these two in the western conference finals. So much speed and skill makes it so entertaining to watch

  7. What a great weekend for all the Avs' fans! All the more for those in Europe, since we could watch the Avs' train arrive at the W station without disrupting our sleep pattern 😉
One thing I'd like to touch upon – maybe the transfer the Avs need is in the coaching department? Don't mean Bednar obviously, yet we need somebody to inject more creativity and bite into our PP.
What do you think and would you please shed some light on how it works behind the scenes?
Thanks guys and keep it up!

  8. If the last 2 games of the Oilers vs , (Col, NYR) don’t convince you as a fan that the Oilers have a Swiss cheese D then nothing will! You can’t win a cup with that D no matter how good your offence is! They can’t win a 4/7 series , for 4 rounds! As for the Avs you can tell that this team as won a cup , they have belief that they can win any game,,, I’d be scared if I were other teams , cause the Avs are no where close to a full roster

  9. It was one of the Oilers typical collapses and there are a lot of teams that have found it a easy mountain to climb this year.

  10. Some fun stats they offered during the game:
Edmonton was 16-9- and something when scoring first
Edmonton was undefeated when Foegle scored a goal
Avs had not won a game this year after being down by 3
Maybe I'm just still jazzed up from the comeback, the way they played, that never-give-up we saw that defined last year…but this feels like a turning-point game, one we'll look back at and say "That's where they truly remembered who they are."

  11. Absolutely loving the jolt that Nieto has given to the bottom six since the trade. Has a completely different feel than it did a month ago and very noticeable. Avs secondary scoring had been abysmal and now it feels like the top lines can have an off night and still win games. EJ having a broken ankle sucks but kind of feel like Englund can step into that role without missing a beat and dare I say it, they may be a bit better with him as the sixth man. One big miss with EJ out, which it’s no coincidence that it’s the reason he is out, is he’s a shot blocking machine. Landy back on the ice today is a great sign and hoping there’s no setbacks as getting him back will be the equivalent of a blockbuster trade where the Avs had to give nothing in return. Loving the trajectory right now and have a sneaky feeling the Avs might win the west again.

  12. Sammy G alone in front of Campbell and he did not score. Should I say I was not surprised? Team showed fighting Spirit but 0 and 4 in pp and those horrific defensive mistakes, need to be addressed. After Bednar's comments, Landeskog is probably out for regular season. EJ probably played his last game for the Avs. Feel sorry for Cale. Friday is a very, very, very important game as so far this season Winnipeg had the Avs' number.

  13. So proud of the Avs' performance yesterday. That was a real character victory, and that's really about all I can say. They didn't give up, they rose to the occasion and they overcame the odds. If the Avs can win against Edmonton in that fashion, I don't think there are many teams they can't beat.

Soundcheck: Thursday – We Will Overcome

  14. Best game of the year so far. Took the Game and took their Heart.. Captain skating.. I agree might have seen the last of EJ.. bad for him but might be good for Avs.. we will see.

  15. Trash commentators on espn as usual that had to be the worst most biased called game ever…. Go avs they still got the win though… lmao tired of the Edmonton hype train that team once again sucks in goal and on defense…

  16. I agree 💯 with the PP, had we converted even one or two goals on the PP we wouldn’t have to claw back the way we did. Great Job boys !

They did do awesome that game and I can finally say the past two-three games I’ve seen some offensive production from my punching bag Sammy. G,
I know he’s a defenseman but by golly it’s so nice to see him get some assists and even scoring opportunities! That’s all I want from the guy. This team has the potential to make a deep playoff run if they play together and stay healthy. The west doesn’t look as scary as the East.

  17. If EJ is done for at least the regular season, just trade for Erik Karlsson (probably not, but a man can dream, right?)

  18. I just want to shout out Sammy G, he played fan freaking tastic. He had multiple moments 1v1 with McDavid and held him from a chance everytime
