Idk about this. Zadina has been playing well. I hope this doesnt hurt his confidence.

Im excited for vrana to come in but personally wouldve subbed out sunny.

  2. I would have gone with Sunny out to get Z and V together, but we shall see what happens!

  3. AFreePeacock

Bummed because I want all the best for Zadina and it seems he’s been playing well enough to warrant his spot, but I feel like I’m past the point of worrying about his confidence too much unless it seems he’s outright wronged repeatedly

He’s in that bottom group of cycling in & out so this will just probably be a thing that happens until he forces Lalonde’s hand otherwise. I hope he can do just that!

  4. I feel like we should have sat Sunny; Zadina and Vrana were electric last season on a line together.

  5. beardofzetterberg

    Czech in, Czech out.

    (Sorry)

  6. coltron57

Gotta assume this is mostly role-related. The “lesser” talented forward options to sit play PK while Zadina doesn’t and Vrana is an upgrade on the PP.

  7. I hope Washington welcomes Vrana back somehow. They still like him and he’s been through a lot to get back to the NHL.

  8. Insane we didn’t cut Sundqvist, who was truly horrendous the last two games.

  9. admnchls1028

don’t like this man. Zadina has been playing well, hopefully it doesn’t crush his confidence. I would’ve taken sunny or kuby out before Zadina. I understand Sunny’s appeal on the PK but he swings and whiffs way too often when he gets offensive chances and honestly doesn’t pass the eye test for me defensively. Yzerman needs to make some deals here to free up some space for Zadina/Vrana.

  10. Oh_my_Butt

Zadina has been one of our better forwards. Don’t agree with this decision

  11. SpiritBamba

Sunny has not been playing good and you keep him in lol okay. I talked about the logjam of forwards coming back to bite us earlier in the year and sure enough it does. Trades have to be made.

  12. esotericunicorn5

People forget that Sunny is huge, physical, kills penalties, and is net-front on the pp. That’s just a different role than Vrana and Zadina. Its not about « better, » it’s about there being less redundancy to keep Sunny in rather than both of the czechs

  13. Flowsnice

Saw that coming from a mile away.

  14. _Kramerica_

My only guess that Kubalik and Sunny are in is we’re potentially showcasing them. I’m still not convinced that we aren’t going to be sellers at the deadline. Those 2 guys would be potential trade candidates while I think Zadina is still a guy they want to groom and keep for another year or 2 before giving up on. I could also be completely wrong

  15. buddycheesus

    I agree with this decision.

    LGRW.

    Dammit!

  16. EarthenChild

So happy for him. Makes all the overreactions the past few months hilarious to me.

  17. Problemwoodchuck

That’s an odd one. Zadina seems to have played well over the last few games and was one of our best forwards against Seattle in a game where most of the lineup pancaked.

  18. bobtree12

Feel like people are forgetting Zadina is still just coming back from his injury, probly good to get him some rest as long as he’s not scratched multiple games in a row

  19. wellpaidscientist

Zadina will be back, don’t worry

  20. zakksyuk

Makes good sense. Zadina and Vrana fill similar roles and Vrana is better at it. Sunny is one of those piano puller types so he stays in for the physicality. I like it!

  21. Salamangra

I thought for sure we’d seen Vrana play his last game as a Wing.

I’ve never been happier to eat crow.

  22. Kryptopus

At this point I’d rather take out Suter than Zadina

  23. TehHugMonster

Played his last game in a Wings jersey, huh?

  24. jfstompers

I get thinking sunny should be the one out here but Washington can be a pesky physical team so I get having the big guy in there.

  25. MemeLordOverKill

Where’s the mf’ers down voting me for saying Zadina was getting bumped out yesterday

  26. Sneacler67

It’s time to just admit that Zadina is not going to pan out. I just don’t understand why everyone is so attached to the guy. He’s not elite, he never will be. It’s not a matter of bad coaching or lack of opportunity or injury. He’s just not a top six forward and if he’s not a top six forward then there are guys who can play a way better bottom six role for the team. Even going back to his time with the GRG, he was only average.

  27. AWokenBeetle

Welp Zadina’s confidence after being knocked down will be perfectly fine, great

    🙄

  28. lilPavs13

Should have been kuby, zadina and vrana play well together

  29. MightyBosskTones

That dude that got downvoted yesterday for saying Zadina needs that karma back.

  30. ranger_d

I like Zadina but I don’t understand why everyone seems to put him on this pedestal. He plays alright but doesn’t score a lot and still has a lot to prove even though he’s been in the line up consistently over the past couple years. Without checking stats, we’re still waiting for that Zaddy Hatty aren’t we?

All that being said, I doubt he’s out because of his play. He’s coming off of injury so this is probably good for him physically. Hell, maybe him and Vrana take turns in and out so they can both play at their best conditioning wise. Chances are people are moved at the deadline and there’s room for all of our best players going forward, whoever Yzerman thinks that is.

  31. jackstalke

Personally I would’ve swapped out Kubi instead, but it’s good to see Vrana back in the lineup.

  32. Good_Kid_MEME_City

zadina zeason has been temporarily halted

  33. Wingnut17

I like Veleno but maybe take him out a game bc I felt zadina has been playing better. Ras, Fabbri or sunny could slot in at Center.

  34. pros_cheat_at_csgo

Should have pulled Rasmussen. He get’s pushed off the puck like he weight 100lbs and falls constantly.

Would rather see 2 czech snipers in the same lineup.

  35. Nate1n22

A lot of downvotes yesterday for people saying Zadina will be the one sitting

  36. poodletown

Odd choice, I thought Zadina and Vrana had some great chemistry. They bring out the best in each other when they play together.

  37. grandrapidsgolfer

Doesn’t anyone really think that the idea is to have Vrana get a few goals and points for a few games in an effort to up his trade interest??

It would be nice to get something out of him rather than nothing AND have to retain part of next years salary.

  38. ClassicInterview3985

Not really sure why people are in love with Zadina here. I don’t see anything good in his game. He doesn’t skate well, always one step too slow. He can’t finish his chances either. Will be out of the NHL very soon. Chalk it up as a miss for Ken Holland.
