I have no use for Gavrikov.If your system doesn't have a similar player in your system you should fire your scouts.Guys like this are a dime a dozen.
Most al the players up for grabs are playing as LOSERS this year that is why teams want to unload them.
There is actually a lot of valuable players out there teams likely could get but managers seem to be asleep.
If Columbus came talking to me i would tell them simply …not interested good luck moving him.

Boston is the best Def in the league why on earth would they even care about Gavrikov?
IMO if Boston was looking for one more piece it would be a good second line player albeit Boston has just been good all over this year scoring well defense well a good reason they are a top the league.
In case of Boston disrupting the current balance adding a new player might hurt them more than help them.
If there is a team that should be looking for a D man it might be the Leafs and Carolina should be looking for one more forward.

I see nothing wrong with asking for a lot because there are idiot GM's out there, like the 1 that has dismantled my team in Chuck Fletcher, that will over pay.

Jarmo do have a deep asking price. But that is only ask not the real price. I think 1st rnd and 4th rnd picks would get him for sure. Gavrikov have one upside and that is his salary so should be able to fit easily under cap. He could be used as backup and middlepair in upcoming playoff. I think Leafs or Oilers could use him. But then again i would go after EK if could get 75% salary retention for him even if a bit more picks would be losed in that trade.
The dude has said he wants to test free agency no matter where he goes. Who would pay a first for a guy that has declared he will not re sign before testing free agency. No one.

Columbus is right to ask for that because someone is going to pay it. Gavrikov, even in a "down" season is going to be coveted for a contender.

As a bruins fan I am willing to pay a 2nd round pick and that’s it maybe a lesser prospect added in because Boston is doing great as is. We have no prospects and this is a loaded draft, I know they have to go for it but i hope they keep their first round pick so they can start filling the cupboards cause they have the worst prospect pool in the nhl

As a Jackets fan im happy Jarmo is aiming for the moon i would be happy for a 1st and a 4th even just a 1st tbh but if we can get that i will be ecstatic.
It’s a seller market. There isn’t many stay at home Defence on the market.
He plays on one of the worst teams in the league so I don’t think you can really look at the numbers too much. If he goes to Boston and plays with that defense he probably gets back to what he was. As far as price it’s always going to take a first and maybe more to get a player like him. Boston’s defense is already great and he would add insurance for injuries down the road.
Covered this on BNG but my return from Boston was a 1st a 4th next year and a prospect like Steen or Lauko who just can't crack the lineup but are better than AHL level with CBJ retaining salary. 3 picks is insane Savard wasn't even 3 picks.

Jarmo's banking on teams hoping for the IDEA that a team is thirsty for a middle pairing left-handed defenseman. He has intangibles, but doesn't bring the grit that David Savard did when teams were vying for his services.
I like Gavy,, Jarmo's pretty good at these negotiations, and it's going to be fascinating to see how his demand is flipped for viable trade resources.
Macabe would be a better choice.
