Watching the Wings in the playoffs again is something I’ve been looking forward to. I’m excited for younger fans to get to enjoy the intensity that only playoff hockey can bring.
Hopefully this year.

A Cup is what they play for, making the playoffs is step one. Making it this season would be a huge payoff given the weird ups and downs of the season. It would be great experience for the young guys and would send the team towards next season with a notch in their belt and an expectation of more.

I’m 26 and never had time to be a fan fan as a kid with sports and school until I was in college and had free time as an adult. (I’m sure even more for people younger than me)
I need to see red wing playoff game as an adult.

Personally, I want us to make playoffs, with the expectation we don’t get through the first round. I feel like this sets the bar for next year: now we know what we are capable of, it « should » give us more motivation to push farther next year.

Kings fan here… I also like the Wings… love to see you guys back in the playoffs. I remember when you guys won the cups in 97 and 98. Man those were some of the best years of hockey. You guys had it all. One of the things I remember that I loved about those teams besides the Russian 5 was the grind line. Draper, Kocur, Maltby and later McCarty. Didn’t Lapoint also play on that line. Anyway, I remember they were being interviewed about the success of that line and they showed clips with the background music of Prodigy -“ Firestarter”. Fond memories of the Redwings…

How many times have we had one of the top teams in the league and have gotten knocked out in the first few rounds? How many times have one of the lower teams made a run in the playoffs? I’m 31, seen 4 cup runs, and I’ll always take a team in the playoffs. Anything can happen.
