@Rangers de New York

C’est le 43e anniversaire du Miracle On Ice. L’équipe américaine a battu l’Union soviétique, quadruple médaillée d’or en titre, 4-3 – et peut-être la plus grande équipe de hockey jamais réunie.

    Herb Brooks went on to coach the Rangers from 1981-1985. Mark Pavelich, Rob McClanahan, Dave Silk, and Bill Baker all eventually played for the Rangers.

    And the name on the front means a hell of a lot more than the name on the back! *Again!*

    Highly recommend the book “The Boys of Winter” by Wayne Coffey about this team/game. It’s actually what got me into hockey (later in life), and it’s a fairly short read.

    I ran a 20 mile race that day in Easton, Mass, the hometown of Jim Craig. There were signs on yards all over the route cheering the American team. Truly an unforgettable day!

    The one day ESPN should play this game at 7 oclock prime time..

    I often wonder if there will ever be a more perfect American win in any sporting event. It seems impossible to have such an underdog, then add political enemies for 30 plus years. Growing up at that time Russia was the enemy from the day you were born they threatened your very existence with nuclear weapons. That win was so special and will never be repeated.
