  1. I like Orlov very underrated player. I know Boston are having a historically good season but this is an awful lot to pay for 2 guys that don't improve them that significantly.

  2. You're actually interesting when you're not wearing Leafs merch. Nice to be able to talk about an actual contender, isn't it? I'd consider subscribing but I'd just get banned in time. Leafs kool aid-free since '73. Go Bruins. PS anybody but Toronto.

  3. The bruins paid for orlov+hathaway exactly what the leafs paid for orielly+accari. Who would you rather have? orielly or orlov? Orielly all day, either boston overpaid or dubas got a steal in the orielly trade.

  4. I could see both of these guys being playoff beasts. Talk about guys who aren’t fun to play

  5. I like your honesty as a Bruin fan! I hope you beat Tampa! The Best vs The Best in the East!

  6. Caps have a number of upcoming prospects in Hershey. I hope they at least give one or two of them a chance in this back half of the season

  7. Only is a STUD! My father was at his forst game; then at my first live NHL game was Kuznetsovs NHL debut.. In 2018 vs CBJ; Backstroms Game Five OT winner was a deflection from a beauty feed from Orlov. The next game; Game Six @CBJ started with a smooth , walk on the line slapper from Orly.. He was awesome during t he Cup run.

His best goal was that through the legs deke around both DAL defensemen and roofed it like a top line winger. Long live our Stanley Cup Champion Dmitry Orlov!

  8. I've been waiting for this one since the news dropped. My take?? God help the League come playoffs.

  9. checkmate😂
    Leaf fans in the summer
'ya but dubas couldnt have known that Boston would make such a great trade'.

Dubas must be crying in his beer.

  10. As a Caps fan I love this trade. Caps have roughly half their team as UFA's next season and have let the wildcard spot slip away. Getting a 1st rounder and 2 other picks for 2 of their UFA's is a great investment for the future. I don't think the Caps are willing to label their situation as a rebuild just yet, but it's looking like one and I think that's positive. Starting the process now instead of waiting for Ovechkins' contract to expire is a huge plus.

  11. You obviously don't watch the Caps if you think they shouldn't sell. They can't score to save their lives and Ovechkin has been on a drought lately as well. Even if they do squeak into the ploffs they aren't winning a round

Guess I'm a Bruins fan this playoffs. Orlov is one of fave players.

  12. The Wild are around 75% to make the playoffs with their current roster. The only pieces they might trade away are Dumba, Greenway and Goligoski, and I don't think any of them will be a huge loss. I'd be pretty surprised if they put up the assets necessary to get one of the remaining big fish considering they would only be a pure rental, but I guess we'll see. Maybe they trade away a quality asset for Boeser and some salary retention, but I doubt it.

  13. Bruins why trade now . Your team has the best record in the league. Why upset the apple cart and disrupt the chemistry of the team.

  14. I think Wild is more likely to make the playoffs than the Caps. Caps are not far off but they have many teams between them and the 2nd wild card spot. And at least against Canes last weekend, they were straight up bad. Even if they would somehow make it to the playoffs, I don't think they would go anywhere there. Wild is probably going to make it, but looks like they are not planning to add anything big considering they are trading away cap space.

  15. I’m stoked. Sweeney would have effed up the picks anyway so this is a win! If he signs Pasta, he’ll have given himself some job security in my book… not that I matter whatsoever 😂

  16. Don’t know if you’ll see this, but thought you should know this anecdote from a B’s fan. Told the kids we were going to see Umaine Hockey tomorrow night. This got a positive response, and my kids know I love hockey and hear me watch your videos consistently… and I hear my son say “go Blue!” which is good and appropriate for Maine, and then I hear from him, “Go Maple Leafs!” I did a double take, but I think its hilarious. Just thought you should know your influence has spread in this Bruins family, thank you for the content and you’re welcome for potentially the newest Leafs fan. Wish you well!

  17. And I’m so glad to see Craig smith go. He’s not so good at hockey anymore. Tough as nails but… meh.

  18. This is what I feel like the Bruins needed to get past teams like Carolina… ohhh fingers crossed!

  19. Ovechkin just lost his dad, could go either way the remainder of the season. (Condolences)
Caps'll be fine without enforcer Hawthorne now that Wilson's back from injury.

  20. Caps have lost 6 straight now and have looked completely miserable doing so. Squeak in to get spanked by Boston? Nah I’ll take a white flag on the season and trying a retool.

  21. Both Bruins and Leafs made good deals. Love the week before the trade deadline.

  22. Bruins fan here. While I do enjoy watching Steve blow a gasket especially come playoff time, this was a fun video. I legitimately guffawed at least twice.

To Steve's comment about the Bruins thinking Chychrun was overpriced, the rumoured ask was: BOS 1st round pick 2023, Swayman OR Debrusk, Fabian Lysell (BOS top prospect), and Brett Harrison (BOS 2021 3rd round pick, having a lowkey good season in the OHL with 2 teams). Additionally, Arizona would not retain salary nor take any cap dumps.

Kudos to the caps for making the deal. Is it really worthwhile to go all in to make the playoffs only to get bounced by potentially record setting Bruins squad or an almost as impressive Canes team in the 1st round? With the thought of prices maybe coming down, did they make themselves a potential trade partner with Arizona for Chychrun? They need defensemen signed past this season, and now got 3 additional draft picks to play around with. Might be a scenario of taking 1 step back to make 2 steps forward.

  23. That sucks, now I have to start watching the Western Conference games and skip watching the cup finals. Hate certainty, no fun.

  24. I wish the caps kept Hathaway, I liked his game, but Orlov makes way too many dumb decisions and turnovers and was not worth the 8 year contract he wanted

  25. Leafs trade rating: 4.5 … the addition to the top 6 was not what the needed, but its all that Dubas knows. Is it true Taveras is the new $11M 3rd line center?
Bruins trade rating: 8.5 … adds another very good D-man and very good grinding bottom 6 player who will make the Bruins a tighter playoff built team. Adding to a great Bruins team makes them nearly unstoppable. Definitely to the final 4.

  26. Hathaway is going to be the 2023 version of the 2011 Shawn Thornton. The Bruins 4th line is going to terrorize their opponents.
